Just to ask, has anyone tried out this grip yet? I'm using a leather finger strap which I got from eBay, but I find its too inconvenient at times as you need to hook the strap all the way to the base of your finger, so its a bit fiddly to put on and take off. I'm now eyeing the Richard Franiec grip instead, but I'm concerned about whether the adhesive on the grip will break off after prolonged use?

I haven't had personal experience with the Richard Franiec grip on this cam, but I use it on my XZ-1 and have mounted the rather heavy Opteka 0.45x wide converter before. The grip held up just fine even when I was holding the cam with one hand.. =)

Hi sorry I'm a major 4/3 noob, kept hearing the hooha about it but as I simply could not afford one, I did not bear to go find out more about the wonderful things it can do. :X Now that the 3rd version is out, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light as to how the 1, 2 and now 3 compare? And since I am finally thinking of getting on the bandwagon, would you suggest I get a pre-loved 1st gen to learn the ropes first or jump straight into the boiling water? Haha. I've been an IXUS/350D user thus far, but largely have been relying on my best camera (the one that's with me; my iPhone), and well, you know the quality. Am hoping getting a PEN will get me started on proper photography again. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hi juzmitz, my advice would be to go for the latest models as those are the ones earning the good reviews. IMHO the first generation of m4/3 cameras had some bugs and design flaws that have been addressed in the latest models. Also since you are used to the iPhone you might wanna consider either getting a fixed lens like the Zuiko 12mm or 45mm, or the Panny-Leica 25mm. Otherwise I would suggest the Panasonic X lens as those mimic compact camera lens.
