Hmmm.... got new findings.

Today while shooting with a fully charged battery on D300, the battery suddenly turned flat. I took out and put back the battery, it showed fully charged again. :(

Not sure if others encounter this intermittent problem.

Maybe batt problem??

I think the battery is suffocating inside the battery compartment .... must take it out for some fresh air .........

Seriously, maybe its battery contacts that you need to clean ....:)

Ha ha.... it overworked when I kept snapping. So temperamental, shoot halfway, must bring it out for fresh air.

You referring to camera or battery contacts? This has never happened to my D80 before leh.

Is the problem intermittent or you are still experiencing it. Both ways I will suggest you bring it to Nikon Service.

I had this unpleasant experience a couple of years back with my D2x to. Started with intermittent problem like this, batt showed flat then took it out and could shoot a coupe of shots etc I thought than that probably my batt was not fully charged.. So did not think too much of it. Unfortunately a week later during a shoot at 2am in the morning for an event, the problem came, though I had a spare batt it did not help. Ended up I have to open and close the batt compartment after each shot. Though the job was done but was quite a nerve-racking experience.

Not for D300, but one unfine day, my company's D40 just showed battery flat and refused to work. Bought a spare battery and it didn't work too, so we had to send it in to NSC. Then I read in another thread that someone else has faced the same problem with a D200. It is due to a faulty battery chip in the camera. NSC replaced it under warantee.
