i'm also looking for 3rd part bg... anyone???

heard of this brand called phottix, not sure whether should use it, but most of those i heard who are using them, are quite satisfied, i opened a new thread, asking ppl to comment on them ...

try nver to get third party...get it only in desperation :)

Have my battery grip with my 300D daily since 3 years ago, and still married together, and still struggling to find one for my 50D lol. Any lobangs?

Got a BG-2N for my 40D few months back from a clubsnapper.

I'm Loving it. Felt that it really helps in achieving a more stable grip not only vertically but also horizontailly.

Looks like it not gonna leave my camera...haha

i use a 400D, recently bought a grip.

it's useful for some occasions. but i will detach it when i feel it's useless.

in fact, most of the time is useless.

(Since i shoot event more, time is crucial. repositioning your hand is slow. i would rather turn my hand along with the grip and take the photo and done)

Always on my camera, balance out the weight of my 24-70

it can balance the weight even with 4.5kg 800mm f/5.6 handheld :D

its a must for me, the extra weight really helps for my close ups as i got shakey hands and makes virtical shots easy. has been married to my 400d since the day i bought the grip. hahaha

hi ..
any one know what bettery grip model for canon 1000D . It is the same bettery grip model with 450 D :)

Hi

Battery grip is must for the big hand like me.... no grip no confidence

after using a BG, it just feels weird to use the camera without it

I 'm not very familiar with a battery grip for i have never use it, the qustion i'll ask there is i bought a bp-511 battery for myself and a casio np-20 for my friend, can i buy a battery grip to catch them?

what do u mean by a battery grip to catch them?

All the time with my EOS 5D except for vacation. I found it's easier for me to handle with my grip and Canon E-1 hand strap attached. I think mainly because I need extra place for me becasue I'll stretch my four fingers wide when holding the camera.

Why? You sound like a Canon sales representative. :what:

There is absolutely nothing wrong with getting 3rd part products as long as the quality is good. The Phottix battery grips are excellent quality, you'll have a really hard time telling which one is the original and which one is the 3rd party except for the different logos. You can get those Phottix battery grips from eBay for a pretty reasonable price.

Also have a look at Dealextreme, the "YongNuo" battery grips are excellent as well.

This model fits the 450D and the 1000D: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.14865
This model fits the 20D/30D/40D/50D: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12487

Even if it doesn't say that they fit the 1000D (for the first) and 50D (for the second) they indeed fit perfectly. And the quality of these grips are excellent, no worse than the original if you ask me.

Please take note that I have not seen/tested any other brands of 3rd party battery grips (other than Phottix and YongNuo) so I cannot comment on the quality of those.

it was bolted on my 5D2 the day i bought BG-E6...

i like the feel & balance of it but i dont like the looks, its obvious theres some thing attached to the butt of the camera. (unlike nikon & pentax)...
