Bargains/Deals for Sony A35

I m new to photography. 2 weeks ago. I asked some questions. The "senior" members reply me to google and search. What the point of having this forum when people cannot ask something. I did my own research and couldn't find any answers. I been using other forums. But this is the most unfriendly forum I ever to encounter.

Gotta agree to an extent. This isn't an unfriendly forum, but it does have a few counterproductive participants.

I've been around for a few years and have come to realize that doing a search here doesn't always turn up results that *are* here.

It's interesting to note that, as a Nikon user up until about 6 months ago, I always found the ClubSNAP Nikon equipment discussion forum to be civil and cooperative, with many contributors who shared their in-depth knowledge and experience.

The Sony/KM equipment discussion forum seems to have a number of self-appointed "authorities" who expect the forum to adhere to their standards while at times ignoring forum rules. Too, there are a few in here who think that the purpose of participation is to "win" the discussion rather than to share information in a cooperative environment. I think this curtails participation by many who might otherwise share their valuable knowledge and experience.

This forum is populated by people of all levels of experience (or lack thereof). Anyone who feels that a question is an attempt to exploit their knowledge has the option of simply not answering it. Creating an adversarial tone by scolding new users or berating someone's lack of knowledge will ultimately kill any forum.

To the topic, as soon as I'm back in SG I'll be re-listing my a35 in B&S, for the benefit of anyone who can't find an acceptable price for a new copy.

I think the mods should close of this thread. No point to linger around this question. We are all here to share what we can and I believe every one here is willing to share. Sometimes its the way things are asked and sometimes, its the effect of interpreting comments without the human touch that distorts the meaning behind it.

We should learn to respect people of all temperaments. Hear something you disagree with , you can share your counter views. If you feel that someone is abusing you, you can report to the mods. Let the mods handle it.

If you need help, I am sure if you ask your question tactfully and sincerely, no one will respond hostilely.

Actually you might be surprised. But many of them have left for the other sony forum already because of the repetitive threads posted on CS by newbies who did not even bother to read the stickies, and the fellow newbies who try to act like the forum police while accusing other members of "acting like the forum police".

Hypocrites are a turn-off.

Seriously, you are just here to create displeasure and provoke an agenda against someone. I am just here to share and learn , not to care about what says in threads that I am not concern with.

Using the same logic, you hear something you dislike , you can always choose not to reply. But replying and calling me blind, how different are you from those you are criticising ?

Yeah, gotta love hypocrites who do personal attacks while complaining about personal attacks, who call other people "forum police" while trying to police the forum themselves, and tell people not to reply if they don't like the post but they themselves are replying to a post they don't like.

Sad part is, people like that are very "ya ya papaya" and enjoy fingerpointing, but never look in the mirror.

Although i seldom post, i have been following this forum for some time. I dare to say this forum will be very much merrier without characters like you. Not everyone is as free as you to go through all the stickies and terms of use before posting a question. Look at the number of posts u made, do u have a life? Forum Police.

Going through stickies and searching is not a matter of "being free", it's called adhering to rules. As for your personal attacks, please, that just says a lot about yourself. Stop trying to be the "forum police" you seem to enjoy complaining about. Contribute more to the forum first rather than spending half your post count ranting about something that does not involve you.

reading the stickies n searching the forum is part of the t&cs. it's a legally-binding agreement between each individual and cs. it is so even if you swear u didnt read n thus was not informed. that being said, it applies not just to cs, but every other social media network, contest, lucky draw etc.. so reading t&c is nt being free but is what is expected of you. and obviously nothing is wrong being active online. look, i got scolded by rashkae before and i am speaking up for him. his scoldings (note the plural) then has helped me ib some ways.

catchlights have repeatedly said that updating price guide is everyone's responsibilityand any user who has an updated price list should pm him.

i'm nt trying to fan the flames, juz hope to clarify the part abt searching and price guide being in the t&c..

lastly, ts pls close this thread. it's totally ot n filled with personal attackd from 1 or 2 of the users..

If senior member like Raskae join us there in digital camera thread for eg.. im sure he will vomit blood... seeing the same question being asked every other day.. haha

but at CS, the culture is totally different.. sometimes i was taken aback by some senior members comment when they replied to new member..
Im not condoning their harsher tone.. but im sure they are nice guys.. sometimes i pm them too for advice.. they always reply nicely..

now i always do my own research and finding.. not only on photography aspect but others too.. maybe too used to CS culture..

Imagine a newbie happily come and ask questions (back then didn't know about the search box on top) and knew too little about photography to Google, and saw replies from Rashkae and Octarine, and almost fell off my chair.. LOL But then I learned and didnt talk back, soon i became relatively independent.. so yea.. LOL

I agree with both sides honestly.

Rashkae's side - We (as newbies) wouldn't want to treat you as a personal concierge until they do need help. This is my first camera and yeah. Not experienced in all these things, that's why I opened this thread.

Sonax/JimmyJim's side - You are correct too, I want to get personal opinions from CS members, not to google for others' opinions. :/

This particular section is the worst of all sorts of forum i frequent. You only do two things here (1) to do your own silent searching, or (2) to lick some german marbles. Can see some guys like (2). Zzz..

1) Yes it's good to search, but the helpful interaction of members are also welcome, even for age old questions.
2) Senior members need to be reminded to be kind and helpful. We do not need an RSM to be lurking around the forums attempting to keep newbies in line. That's the moderator's job.
2) If anyone has complains against CS, they can choose NOT to be here. Punishment dished out.
