Bargains/Deals for Sony A35

Yes it's about sharing and discussing. But not asking the same repetitive questions over and over again - a forum is not a personal concierge service. That's what the "search" field is for, and why the CS terms of use clearly state to search before you post.

Like I said if new bird is pissing you off with asking the same question over and over again, "Don't Reply"? Not very hard really, I usually read and don't reply if I find it not worth answering.

But noooooooo, some old bird has to reply "Do a search?".... then why bother replying if the reply is do a search? If you are not willing to help then don't help, if you are piss with the new bird then don't reply.

I am sure "Don't reply" is not very hard.

Thanks everyone. Will be checking out MS Color and the Get iT @ Suntec fair. Anyone has been there today? Is the A35 selling there?

He was being sarcastic when he said "awesome"... All these IT fairs are a waste of time. Chances are it would have cost about 900-920 at MS Color

Thinking about it.. yup it sounds sarcastic.

MS Color sells it for 900-920? Sigh. Anyway, I got the Extended Warranty from Harvey Norman. ><

Sorry guys, yeah I was sarcastic. These IT fairs seem to be a Singaporean phenomenon. I will probably never understand why so many people go there and even buy something.

Anyway, congrats to your new A35!

The difference is in teaching someone to fish, or just giving him a fish. I can tell by your immaturity that you are obviously one of those people incapable of common sense and logical thought and just go through life expecting everything to be handed to you. With that mentality you won't go far.

In support of the newbies, I feel it is not fair to be put down for asking newbie questions, saying personal things like dun go far, immature, or worse things.
If you want the forum to be open and interesting and support more people buying and using Sony pdts, then we should be supportive. Else, people will just leave the forum and go else where. Imagine Sony service center tells you to go search the web for prices?!

The forum is only as good as the people using it.

The problem is when you ask newbie to do a search, that is NOT teaching them how to fish, giving them advice or opinion is teach them how to fish, definitely not especially when you only teach them to search just 1 tiny forum. You might as well just ask them to go google?

Don't forget the so called "Pro" were once newbie too, so don't tell me that those "Pro" never ask newbie question before? It's like you were once a kid, running around and screaming and fooling around, but now you are an adult you have to act like one and complaining why that little kid of my neighbor is so noisy making so much noise that you have forgotten that you were ONCE A KID too making similar noises to annoy your neighbor as well.

As for your perception on me, I will not go so LOW as a personal attack, like calling you names or such to show my maturity to your so call "keyboard attack" on me. So I shall not comment on what you think of me since it is of not much importance to me or the people in this forum, since this is a forum for DISCUSSION not PERSONAL ATTACKS.

Conclusion again, if you have NOTHING to help/contribute to answer the newbie then don't reply.

You want personal advice? Or an opinion?

Ok, here it is:

Before you post on a forum asking for information that can easily be found out on your own, find it out on your own. Search if needed, make phone calls, you have 10 times more tools now than we had before.

Now, if you want to talk about sharing, once you have made those calls, update the price guide.

Before I joined CS, I did my own research. I canvassed the shops, got the best prices, tried all the available DSLRs out there. I did all this without depending on a forum. Nothing beats taking your own initiative and doing your own research. Because of my canvassing, I was able to share deals I had gotten. However, it does not mean that others should just be able to use us as their concierge/information desk. There is a big difference between "sharing" and "leeching information".

Does this forum belong to you?

Nope! If it did, I'd certainly enforce some of the rules such as "search before you post".

In the same vein, it also does not belong to you.

Dun act like a big boss here, nobody owe you a living.

Correct! Nor do we owe *you* a living, or a spoonfeeding. Nor should *you* act like a big boss and try to tell me how and when to reply! Thank you for proving my point.

*smack my head*
You don't get what I am saying? I only want to state that if you don't feel like "sharing" your opinion/suggestion/advice then don't share, if you feel people is here to this forum to "leech information" then you don't reply?
So there is no need to ask newbie to do a search or whatever, I think it is very unnecessary to do that.

As for your self initiative on what you done, etc.... Kudos to you on that, but please don't measure your self initiative to that of others, all people are born different, different background, different level of knowledge/IQ/EQ, different race/religion, etc... so don't measure them with your level of expertise or experience or knowledge we are not the same and if everyone is the same, then life would not have been that interesting and rather predictable.

This thread is getting off topic. No point putting forth any comments that are irrelevant to A35 bargains. For new joiners, do check out the forum rules and regulations. I cant find it somehow lol

Don't reply then same questions come out all over again about 2 weeks down the line. Reply to nip these questions in the bud.

It's in the clubsnap terms of use. You should read it too.

I m new to photography. 2 weeks ago. I asked some questions. The "senior" members reply me to google and search. What the point of having this forum when people cannot ask something. I did my own research and couldn't find any answers. I been using other forums. But this is the most unfriendly forum I ever to encounter.
