For those of you who are staying along the Skytrain line and wish to go to BITEC, here's my advise:

Take the Skytrain to On Nut station. By taking the train you will reach your destination faster because a taxi may get stuck in a traffic jam, depending on time of day.

At On Nut, you have two choices. You can take the free shuttle bus to BITEC motorshow. You need to exit and go to the road where the traffic flows OPPOSITE of your train direction. The staircase (NOT escalator) will lead you down and look for a signboard that says free shuttle bus. It should be very close to the staircase and you would see a group of people waiting for the bus unless the bus just departed.

The other choice is to take a taxi from On Nut. This is faster because the free bus' route is a bit too slow for my liking. Take taxi from the road where the traffic flows in the same direction as when you reached On Nut by Skytrain. Hail a taxi and say "Bai Tec". They should understand you. Taxi fare should be around 70 baht (approx. S$3.00) and the journey takes about 10 - 15 minutes depending on traffic.

Entrance fee to the Motorshow should be about 80 baht.

Expect big crowds on weekends. Weekdays are easier but the crowd will build up by 4pm.

Thanks for your info.

BTW, now got 1 photog CONFIRM on the Lingerie shot on 30th march. Who ever interested to join-in to share the cost...please PM ya.

Thank you ;)

More info, the route from OnNut station to Bitec is the Sukhumvit road. It will definately jam on peak hours, due to the taxi. But, it will not jam until the vehicle will not move at all.

so is it advisable to stay near bitec or near to at bangkok town area ?

I have check with the locals...

BITEC is in the middle of Airport and Pratunam (town)...

From Airport...about 35 min.

From City...about 1 hour.

:)

I have been going to the motorshow since 2002 and so far see no reason to book a hotel near BITEC. You would not face a traffic jam if you leave early. In my case, I always visit the show on a weekday and leave the hotel at 12 noon or 1 pm. It takes about 20-25 minutes to reach On Nut from Siam interchange station. On Nut station is all the way at the end of Sukhumvit Rd and so it less prone to the normal chaotic traffic of downtown Sukhumvit. However if you choose to go to the show during rush hour, well, good luck!

So my advise is stay in a hotel that's to your convenience i.e. near Skytrain, shopping centres or entertainment areas and leave early for the show.

BTW, I forgot to mention in my earlier post that there are free shuttle buses that will bring you from BITEC to On Nut station. I usually take a taxi to BITEC from On Nut but go back by free shuttle bus at night. Just ask the pretty ladies at the information counters where the pick up location is.

time now 11.15 am thailand time, heading out to Bitec in another 30miins or so

Ohh...they didnt heavily advertise it?

It's not heavily advertised compared to the ComMart IT show, and the jewelry show @ Impact. I get to know this 1 or 2 weeks back, even i'm staying in Bangkok!! :bsmilie::bigeyes:

first time experience, BITEC is totally on another scale compare to any motor show in singapore LOL

Snapped off 700+ shots and flattening 1 full battery

How much is the entrance fee ?
Is it 500baht?
I forgotten. I live in bkk, and yet i dunno. =/
Might be going on Sun :D:bsmilie:
