Which ball head do u recommend: Manfrotto 468RC($286) or Ultimate Acratech ball head(abt$450) ?

It must b able to hold a 400 f4 lens in any position without failure.

The Acratech should do fine. Otherwise, try the ArcaSwiss B1 (~$800) or the Kirk ballheads.

erm not to be a wet blanket, but where did you get the price quote for the Acratech? last time i check, the lowest RRP was $560 and above...

guess ah meng was referring to the "defect" Acratech that was advertised a week ago at S$450.00. One time offer only, the ballhead had some minor cosmetic scratches.

ah... that was a one-time bargain... would have gotten that too if a few months earlier. oh well still very happy with my own acratech ballhead...

What Gitzo ballhead you use?
I am using 1376M quite happy with the performance just the weight piss me off....

May i noe why manfrotto 468RC (wt:.8kg ,max load:10kg) not chosen.I would like to noe more of its features,pro and cons.If it can serve e same purpose as ultimate acratech ie hold a 400mm f4 with ease,then it will save me some money.Thanks
