bad experience from Photo friend

The last time I send my dad's neg to Photo friend, they did quite well on the 4Rs. I am quite impress because all pictures are taken with a cheap P&S camera. Anyway, I don't think they deserve to be monkeys. They don't eat cheap banana and they've bitten quite a chunk off my pocket. Its $17 Plus for developing 1 roll plus printing 4R.

For my complain, it only refers to slide to print (120) service. Have not try thier digital prints.

I understand for 120 cropping off certain part is bound to happen. What I mean was that the figure of my portrait is not even in the centre. The shots are 1/2 body and 3/4 body.If u want crop and place the figure at the side at least do it more artistic feel, if not just pl;ace the figure in the centre.

Black dress on black background is difficult to see, I admit it.But including the edge into the pic is not acceptable. Personally I have tried printing on this mache(noritsu). It is not that difficult.
If u cannot see properly, u can increase the brightness or - the density to see properly. Crop and then adjust back the colour.
Most of us will underexpose the slide a little by 1/3 or 2/3 stop.

I think it is not right to put the blame on the photos, if u cannot crop properly.

As there is a color scarf around the waist of the model, it's tail defines the edge of the frame. But guess what, the pic includes the border of anothor frame. I told her this well seeing the photo, and she tell me of the underexpose, not even offering to reprint or what.

I hate it when people give excuses for their mistakes.
Just because the amount and number is small, doesn't mean u can anyhow do.

Once in Konota, aslo black againest black situation, when I told them about the edge, they reprint for me immediately (even though they cut the edge of my negetive wrongly)

Did you check with them whether they do the 120 trans to print there at the shop or do they send it out?

Btw, under law, you are entitled to get a reprint or even a refund if the photos are really as sucky as was described in the earlier post :)

Just thot u all might like to know. ANywy to me, $50 isn't a small amount to pay for photographs.
