Asked to quote Sandisk Ultra II 1GB, amazingly he quoted me $82 for it!

He think i was newbie and i rejected him straight.

Went to CP and was only quoted $65 only.

like that call bad experience? :dunno:

different shops have different costs for different items.. nothing new.. why don't you ask cp sell you same lens price as tcw? one from canon singapore, one from canon japan.. but both also same canon lens what..

went to Macdonals Orchard Big Mac is 40 cents more expensive than my neighbour hood Mac, wow bad experience.

TCW not so known for their memory prices. but their service is good and their repair service is good too.

You're being overly petty.

I don't think you're being petty but nor do I think your experience is too severe.

From a recent thread, Parisilk is selling at 78SGD with AP at 65 SGD so maybe it's just a case that they don't sell many and can't get the level of discount - as mentioned above, TCW is the place to go for grey lenses & bodies rather than commodities like memory. Funan/SLS for those types of things rather than cam shops.

Certainly I've had very few good experiences at Cat*** P*o*o and won't spend another dollar with them....and yes, that's on the reputable shop list as well. Reputable doesn't guarantee good prices.

I'm more inclined to give TCW the benefit of the doubt in this case.

i dunno but hardware shop IIRC sells kingston elite pro CF 1gb at 50 dollars.

well maybe lexar and kingston different speeds la.

This is the most stupid whin I have heard today.

Best place to buy memory is SimLim. I am sure you get get the 1GB below $65 there. :) So that makes it even worse experience.

normal cf cards can be found as low as 50 dollars. 80 dollars can get 2gig already.

Shhh.. petty? If there's a choice to get it cheaper for same brand, will you still go for $82 rather than $65? Shh.. i sense TCW supporters here.

Fine, case closed.

Reputable and cheap are 2 different things, do you even know what is a BAD experience?????

I think you're petty for posting something as inconsequential as this here. You're not even buying it, and you were just inquiring on the price! Costs vary and that's just their pricing on the memory cards.

Sure I'll purchase a cheaper card too from another store but your experience hardly warrant a thread being posted on a matter so trivial as this.

How is quoting a higher price a bad experience? If you were sold shoddy goods or given rude service, those type of experiences would justify a thread... but please, a slightly price than the store next door? Come on! Get some perspective!

FYI, i got the CF card from CP instead of TCW.

I kinda figured that... from your first post

Of cos i will felt cheated. It's not about the price, it's about the sales guy that quoted me. I've always got lens cap and misc from TCW and they always give me slight discount on some items.

Btw, the sales guy is an young guy.. not the middle aged guys that i always got from.
And i believe i've did my homework well before i purchase anything like CF card and lenses.

How were you cheated? You didn't even part with your money. Some stuff are cheaper than other stuff... that can't be too hard to understand ya? It's all dependent on their on costs and mark up to the customer.

No one is disputing your research into the prices... any wise shopper would do the same, it's part of the buying experience. But really, the highest quote you got does not automatically make it a "bad experience". It's only $17 more... like I said, put things in perspective and you'll see you overreacted.
