QUOTE=muvouser;6398791]1. When someone chose to buy a "Bargain price" brand new filter, it doesnt mean he has to accept discoloured or defective filters.

Agree? TS did not mentioned he was forced to accept the defective filters.
how did you come to this conclusion he has to accept the filters?

2. Even though it is sold at "Bargain price", it does not forfeit his rights to check the product before paying. Unless the sale clearly states as "Used" or "Defectives at bargain price".

Agree? Henessy in his Mass Sales website Inspection Policy: Due to previous customers' feedback, each customer will be limited to 3 inspections. After inspecting 3 filters, if the customer is still not satisfied, we will decline further requests to inspect more filters. TS left after seeing the second filter. What actual remarks we don't know. Is TS denied the right to even see up to the 3rd filter?

3. Doesnt mean you pay "bargain price", you should be subjected to bad service.

Agree?
Well if you dont like the service just walk away lo. What is interesting is Hennesy already declared in his Mass sales site:
If you meet my mother : Her temper not very good due to medical problems. If you receive poor service from a middle-aged lady, it should be her. Sorry I cannot do anything with it. In fact, I always quarrel with her at home. Around 2-3 times a week. She is like that one......

Maybe just be a little compassionate towards old folks with medical problems la.
How to be a gracious society sigh...

4. TS checked and found the first filter to be slightly defective with uneven rims. It was reasonable for him to ask for a second piece.

Agree?

Bro, I read from TS as color of the 1st rim is uneven and not uneven rim. They are different le

5. Next time your parents did a disservice to someone, you do not have to try to resolve the issue and can just rub off with "What to do?"

Agree? No?
I guess it's your choice. Best is to put yourself into Hennesy's position/shoes and think is this the best option for you. i think it is not easy as a son to openly declare his mother's problem as in 3.

TS, I support you. Some people in this world do not mind to throw away their dignity for some cost savings. You have highlighted a valid case. Thank you.[/QUOTE]

Saw the recommendation in the General Discussion Forum and I went ahead to contact the seller Henessy from Mass Sale to purchase a 77mm B+W filter. He advised me to go Fu Lu Shou (the address shown in his thread) to buy which I did. Upon reaching the store, I ask the lady shop owner for the filter and after she pass it to me, she started grumbling saying she has no profit for selling the filter and she is only helping a relative. I requested her to show me a 2nd filter as I noticed that the color of the 1st rim is uneven, she handled me a 2nd filter. During the process, she was very rude and asked me if I need to see more .... There were nasty remarks passed by her ... I returned the stuff to her and walk out of the shop. I immediately called Henessy to feedback on what had happened but he said there is nothing much he could do except to post on his thread that interested buyer can only inspect max 3 filters. I told him I was only looking at the second filter and asked why is she behaving in such a rude manner. Henessy explained that lady is her mother and he could do nothing!!!

I just wish to share my bad experience with you guys and warned you of the situation you would face. I have paid $3 for ERP and $2.20 for car park and never did I wish such incidence to happen to myself or anyone of you. My advise is to buy from Henessy if you do not require inspection/checking of the products for you are paying $10s or $100s of dollars.
Cheers

Whatever you were not satisfied with at the inspection, rim uneven, discoloration etc, it should be expected since you are paying for a similar item that is sold much cheaper than other retailers. Things which are cheaper usually come at a cost which buyers should accept the shortcomings. Eg LCD/LED TVs with $500 off the regular price as its a display set. Like the hokkien saying goes, there is no cheap and green stuff lah.

Once should be gracious enough to accomodate the rantings of aged folk. One day, TS too will become an old man.

Fyi, the above 2 clauses were added after the incident.

Which is why I said he deserves to see a second piece (Or more) WITHOUT making him felt that he is being unreasonable!

He has not yet used up his "entitlement" of inspecting 3 pieces hence he does not deserved to be snubbed. I would have walked out too because the buyer does not deserve nonsensical remarks when it is the responsiblity of the seller to provide a "proper" product that meets the basic expectation.

3. Doesnt mean you pay "bargain price", you should be subjected to bad service.

Was the warning clearly stated since Day 1 of the post?

Yes. They are different technically. But it is still a fact that uneven colored rims is not to be expected and accepted.

I see some pretending to be benevolent and few who can empathise with the TS. Wait till buyers kanna nonsense service themselves and we shall see how kind they will be.

are you implying that the seller is selling a "display set" or a inferior filter?

I believe there are more people who share the same view ... cheers :D

I have never met the seller but from some of the comments here (i.e. post 41 & 43), I learn that the seller is quite young. I could now understand how he responded when feedback was provided.

I believe some of the people here left their comments without reading through the threads and understanding the full story … or they are gracious, friend and loyal supporter of seller. I have indicated below the page and post number for easy reference. Page 1 – Post 1, Page 2 – Post 23 & 30, Page 3 – Post 51.

Everyone has their own opinion & view and I appreciate those who have provided constructive comments and feedback.

I now applaud the seller for being transparent of his business model and indicates the following statement in his thread to caution new potential buyer. This clause was included only recently. I wish her speedy recovery.
Quote “If you meet my mother : Her temper not very good due to medical problems. If you receive poor service from a middle-aged lady, it should be her. Sorry I cannot do anything with it. In fact, I always quarrel with her at home. Around 2-3 times a week. She is like that one......”

As I have mentioned before, “this thread is not to slam other people's business. It only served as a caution and to inform new potential buyer of the expectation.” You have different option to buy and one of them is through post.
This thread has serve its purpose and I will proceed to close it.
