B+W ND110 77mm Filter

thanks bro for the info...

ooopppsss...the other day, i enquire on ND8 and not ND400...

guess i get it all wrong...

will enquire with shop again...

ND8 also this price?

By the way bro, this is the link to the details.

NDx400

I actually tried Amazon.com & BH.com which I think BH is giving a better and lower price compared to Amazon. Did try on Warehouse Express (as you mentioned) and these guys seems to deal only locally; means UK, US or Canada only.

Really hard to get this piece of glass....

Err, bro, actually they do ship to Singapore. I bought stuff from B&H before.

They have the B+W ND110 & Hoya NDx400 filter in stock. Expensive though...

B+W 77 mm #110 Neutral Density (ND) 3.0 Glass Filter

Hoya 77 mm Neutral Density x400 (ND) 2.7 Hoya Multi-Coated (HMC) Glass Filter

And this is the shipment cost. in USD.

I kanna.. @!!#$$@!.

Wonder why the price for NDx400 is so high compare to B+W though...

 so much for ND Filter? OMG..

...
what do you guys think about Hoya quality comparing to B+W?
...

Honestly, I don't think the difference is tangible, not for NDs at least. I believe these are both pretty big time brands, so their NDs should be quite consistent and quite darn neutral.

on par, from my experience.

both have the same problems, because nd400 and nd110 are both extreme filters.

Hi guys,

Appreciate all the information....here once again, made a mistake on the pricing....my bad...sorry..:embrass:

Hoya ND8 - $78
Hoya ND400 - $124

Both price from MSColor...need pre-order from the shop and takes 2 day for delivery..

As for B+W, only CP is carrying this brand but they do not stock this filter as its not popular and seems not assist in pre-ordering....

Guess, as for the moment, Ill just settle with Hoya ND400...:)

If you think thats expensive, wait till you check out Singh Ray's Vari-ND filter, the cost plus shipping plus GST would scare you. lol.

that's a very sexy and useful filter, now if only they would come up with a VARI FILTER THREAD SIZE version of it too :bsmilie:

at that price, i still won't buy it though. losing it would be like losing one of my lenses.

you can try Lord's see whether they have ready stocks for the Hoya filter if you can't wait for a few days.

lol, he needs to look at SINGH RAY website :bsmilie:

HI all

i think 2filter.com's more reliable (considering they have competitive filter prices and cheaper shipping costs (depending on type of shipment), so it might be good to check it out. I just bought some hitech filters from them, will post if they are good to go. gd luck in your filter hunts.!

Thanks guys! All information is much appreciated...

Make up my mind to purchase Hoya ND400 @ $124 pre-ordering @ MS which going to arrive today or next monday... hooray!

BTW, Review on this glass is not bad and comparable with B+W.

Thus, with 1 stop lesser than B+W, I reckon I can compensate with CPL...drawback will be Ill be see lots of vignet when coupled these guys together....:)

Hey soulfly, please use the filter and gives the guys here a little review after using it:) Interested to know your experience.

No problem....will do so...

Soulfly, I've shot landscapes with a b+w 10 stop filter... do note that the filter will give a yellow cast to the photos and cause vignetting, as well as degrading the quality slightly... I ordered mine from BnH, you can find it in Adorama too.

I've not shot with a Hoya before, but I've read that B+W is slightly better in terms of quality, as well as the built (different metal used if I remember correctly).

BBB!

lyplypk, i shot with both before, i also find b+w marginally better, both will give yellow/red cast, mainly because of ir leaks. but i am not a pixel peeper.

hoya supposed to be multicoated though, whereas b+w is not, i think.

anyways, you seem to have experience with these, can you comment here?

I don't pixel peep, the colour cast is actually rather apparent after taking the photos... I'll post a photo here when I get home...
