B+W filters: worth paying so much?

Is it worth it paying so much more for B+W filters over basic hoya ones?

Dear folks,
I just checked the price of B+W 58mm XSP UV Haze MRC at CP. It's $178 on the box but the staff told me $140. However, the price offered in the shops in the Mass Sales is just around $60. It really makes me confuse. Anyone has some clues?

did u check mass sale is selling B+W and not B&W? :bsmilie:

did you personally go down to CP or over the phone? i suspect they prob quoted you the wrong filter. sounds more like a 77mm CPL MRC.

Yes, this afternoon I went to one shop in Mass Sales thread near Bugis Junction and to CP after that. Hold both filters on my hand. I could not say the difference between the two. Frankly, it's in the condition of low light in both shops.

It cant be a CPL because I plan to buy UV for my 50mm f/1.4

At CP shop, when I said I checked the price on ClubSNAP 4rum, it's less than $100 (I dont want to say $60), the staff who attended me and the staff stood next to even laughing.

There're two threads selling B+W filters in Mass Sales.

Maybe you should buy one and try out.After that you'll gurantee change to Hoya or Kenko or B+W one:)

When u say never? How many B + W did u own? Or just other brand that u own for ur lens collection?

Thats why i said you should get a vitacon and try.Its really:thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd:I currently have 2 B+W and 1 Kenko:)
 

Ya 100% worth it, love my B+W 77mm MRC F-Pro 007M Clear Transparent so much.

Self-collect at Toa Payoh. Im just concern on the product's authenticity.
I'm aware that original B+W filters have a laser sticker that reads "B+W Filter" from one angle and "Genuine Product" from another angle.
