Hi Vincent,

I have 2 canon lenses. 50mm F1.4 and 70-300mm F4-5.6. Both has 58mm filter size. I bought a lightcraft ND fader filter 77mm with step down rings. I realised that with the ND fader filter mounted on these lenses the images sharpness and colour turn out badly. My question is wether there's any filter can improve this? I mean mounting the 58mm filter first follow by the 77mm ND fader filter. Please quote me if this can improve the over all sharpness and colour. Many thanks in advance

Hi,

I do not carry LCW ND fader and cannot comment particularly. However a quick check online shows that a few users have experience IQ drop when such filters are mounted:

However with regards to your later question, I am afraid to tell you that there is no way to improve the image by addition more filters before the fader. Adding more filters will in fact creates more problems if you do not use them correctly. The best way is to use dedicated NDs to avoid such problems.
