Dear Vivien & the rest whose interested in ordering....,

Base on my experience in ordering photography stuffs from B & H, undermentioned are explaination on which shipment type you likely choose;

a. If you intend not to pay the 5% GST then you choose 'US Postal Service - Global' but you have to wait a little bit longer for the stuffs to arrive S'pore - about 20 to 30 days & handling is by our own local Post Office.

b. If you want your stuffs within a week, then you choose 'UPS Express' but then again, you have to pay the 5% GST when the stuffs handover to you by UPS Singapore.

For your info, I've just ordered some accessories for my underwater camera & a pelican case on 14th May thru' UPS Express & wow received all the said stuffs on the 19th May - that was fast but GST 5% paid..

Items at B & H - sometimes are dirt cheap as US dollars sink but again you've to check in the local market first. Hope this statement, help you all.

Regards.... ;) ;) ;)

Note: Although another website - ADORAMA selling their stuffs cheaper then B & H but too bad no shipment to S'pore.

Dear ajaismd68,

Based on my Experience in ordering stuff from binoculars.com, Adorama, Keh and B&H, Undermentioned is noted :

a. You still have to pay 5% GST when you choose "US Postal Services" as long as the item stated is more then $400, Singapore government sure eat you one..... Anyway, my Telescope from USA was sent by USPS, and it only takes 7 days to reach.

b. UPS express does sent it by 5 days, but I normally get it items by three days.

c. ADORAMA's Minolta Maxxum/ Dynax 7 cost $424 USD while B&H cost $399.95 same $179.95 for the Vertical Grip. Shipping to Singapore is slightly more expensive then B&H too........

Fr what I understand, orders cannot be tracked when sent by US Postal Services. So better be safe & pay a little more to ship by UPS Express.

Actually, it can be tracked, just depending on what service the sender buys, but from what I know, B&H do not buy the tracking service.

For Commerical Delivery Services, such as UPS and Fedex, Tracking is by default, sort of extra service over Government Postal Services. Normally when I ask then to send by UPS or Fedex, I will call their local office for me to go down to their place to collect. Both Fedex and UPS are at Changi, so easy for me to go down, unless the item is too darn heavy, such as the 20kg Telescope mount I had bought.

So far fr your buying experience fr overseas, have u experienced any problems? eg lost package, damaged items, missing accessories etc. I think these courier companies & delivery men don't apply the "TLC" principle...kind of scary when I think abt it

Just wondering. If order should need to be spilt into different shipments due to the volume, will B & H notify us? How? Don't think this will be reflected in the checkout cart.

Got once telescope spolit lah ..... but send it back and they replace it promptly, as long as you inform then via email within 3 days. Then got one send wrong cable, but once told them they send me the correct cable, FOC and I get to keep the wrong cable.... hehehe .... u remember the PC link from my Maxxum 7 to the trigger, that one is the wrong cable lor .... hehehe .... works perfectly with the trigger.

Lost package and damaged items are covered by insurance, so the insurance company pays when items are lost or damaged. :)

Better the Singapore salesman who will come out with 1001 excuses ......

When Checkout cart says how much, it is how much. They will warrant their price from the checkout cart. If it really overshot by too much, they will send email to you for the new shipping charge and have you agree to it before they send.
