I saw D800 avlaible with TK photo, Challanger Funan, John 3:16 and SEA computers in funan

maybe like the stocks seen in the store are reserved sets? that's why tk's phone reply is no stock?

I was at Funan yesterday evening. Saw 1 set at Challenger but notice the box for the D800 was not sealed with a laminated plastic over the box. Give it a miss and went to Computer South Asia. Saw a brand new D800 in sealed laminated plastic over the box. The sale girl made me paid for it first before breaking the laminated plastic and unboxed for me to check and test the D800. Pairing with with my AF-S 24-120 f3.5-5.6G. Any recommendation for a better lens to compliment this body?

Congratulations. Any of the fast prime lens and the 70-200 VR. Wherever possible, get a VR equipped lens for optimum results.

My d800 box is naked. My d700 box is naked too. Same goes to d300 and d80 which I bought in the past was naked as well.

mine too.. shutter count was 3.. 2 test shot in the shop.. and the 1 shot at home to see shutter count. Same goes for all my previous purchases over the years D40, D300, D700, D90... Fuji X100, Canon S95.. all naked. Not to mention all the lenses as well..

I have bought quite a few pieces of camera gear from SE Computers and they are all shrink wrapped. So maybe this is how this shop package their goods.

Seems like stocks aplenty in Funan area.

Saw 3 sets of D800 in Funan challenger with a D4, 1 D800 at SEA computers, another D800 at TK Foto.

But didn't ask how much though...

You do know that Nikon camera boxes usually do not come with laminated plastic wrapping right?

dun think is usually, shud be never come with. think they jus shrink-wrap it themselves la.

the best way is to check the shutter count at home after purchase to be really sure.

I have seen Nikon inventory being delivered to the retail stores before and I don't recall seeing them shrink wrapped.

Hi all, didn't know that a laminated sealed product causes so much feedback on it. Well, it was not shrink wrapped but laminated just like vacumn pack. Well, maybe it was laminate sealed that way by the shop to prevent unnecessary testing and abuse by other. That the reason the sale girl made me paid for it first before opening and unboxing for me to test and check. Yes, checked shutter count at home; 5 shots registered as shots taken at the shop. One more thing, now low on budget after the D800 for a lens as recommended. Thinking of getting a sigma 24-70mm f2.8 HSM for temporary use until end of year bonus. Will this sigma be a good substitute? Thank you.

what is the price you paid for it ? Still RRP or has it dropped?
