Just want to let everyone know that there is one set in Funan at Mac Shop. Price is about 4488

Still available at closing time tonight:-) Going......going.......

went 2 days ago - I'm from sydney - and the prices here and stock level (non existent) - are disappointing. Cheaper to buy in sydney for me. Even with the $4488 price quote less 7% post currency conversion... its cheaper from australia. I was like "wtf" myself.

Disappointed.

It is also much cheaper in Malaysia. I would suggest that you buy it there.

As to why you can't find stocks here, I would suggest that you call Nikon Singapore. There are keeping very quiet about the stock availability and the shops here are exploiting the consumers as a result of it.,,,,,,,,,,, :(

The prices in Malaysia are quite crazy... But its still the stock problem! One can get a et from Penang at RM9350! In KL from RM 9600, D800e at RM10500. Malacca 9700(must wait) to RM10500.

how much is it in sydney? %4488 less 7% is around $4188. I am going to sydney for a holiday. I can claim back 10% gst from Australia... $4188 less 10% is around $3788 which is really cheap...

Think no need so kan cheong. If the price is right, can get it. Those with existing bodys and gears can still do the trick. Unless kana those super low light can't use flash need high file size shoot then bo pian. But how often we encounter this scenario?

The current price in Australia for a nikon australia set is around AUD$3500. Based on current exchange rate, this works out to be around S$4500. If you claim back 10% gst on departure, price will be S$4090. So before gst refund, price is very similar to Singapore. Dont think you can get it for S$3788. And stock is limited too.

some shops are already selling for less than $4090... and for tourist, they can get back 5% gst which amount to $3896...

This is definitely not one of the D800 strength :-( You wouldn't want to use it in such situation.

I fail to understand why Singapore is so expensive for this.

Nikon India retails this for 3667 SG$ MRP for the D800 and 4011SG$ MRP for 800E and with two years warranty. and that price is close to what Nikon USA sell for.

Maybe we should ask collectively why the unfair treatment. either get the prices to be on par with the world or increase warranty to at least 3 years or 5 years. Sorry just venting out.

Try shooting a play or recital with extreme low light, you'll know what I mean. :)
For this scenario, we can only shoot in Q mode, so having a D800 is suffice. Unless there are other conditions I haven't shoot before, a D7000 cam is good enough.

Sorry to OT, but, Nikon SGP also retails the 50 1.4G at a ridiculous price. Back in SGP, it's abt $800+. Elsewhere around the world, it's so much cheaper.

Live with it ..This is SG .. but you have a choice not to buy it locally ..

But because there are still demand at this high price, the manufacturer doesnt blink a eye to raise it further ..

Everything here is more expensive than other countries .. if u travel often in asean you will notice. We paid higher price for lesser variety of choices, but our salary is not as high as others ....

Sorry to OT here .. hehe

Released my reservation at courts

the D4 is a steal at this fantastic price and exchange rate.

KL has 2 dedicated Nikon stores with the full range of Nikons. They selling D800 for slightly less than 4.5k with SGD1=RM2.4 conversion rate. But comes with 3 years local warranty. they say can send in the camera for cleaning, calibration etc FOC during the warranty period, not sure bout SG, but I think this is a pretty good deal.
