Availibility of D800 in Singapore (Part 2)

D800 design for slower FPS but you can enjoy the large at 36MP & much detailed output.

I don't think all the medium format they can offer that fast.

Except the Leica S2.

If wanna used on the studio they you go for D4 or D3s cause they might the shutter life.

...I don not see high FPS as a luxury when you shoot fast action sports as you need to react to movement that can be erratic, so no matter how you time your shot, you would not be able to capture split second changes in action or direction if FPS is not fast enough, D800 is find in studio and events as in your application.

... just wondering how they shoot sporting moments in the past using manual focus?

........sure you can pre-focus like what they used to, which I do in certain situation, and live with certain limitation like responses to changing situation......you may go back to that era if you wish, you do not even need a D7000......

the problem is how to buy from india ???

I am on a trip to Bombay and bought a D800E at 160K INR (about $3780 SGD). Bought another one for a friend back home for 170K INR (about 4038 SGD). If you have any friends going to India, you can ask them to buy one back for you :-)

For those who does not happened to be on a trip to India, it would be too troublesome and costly to go there just to buy the D800.

Definitely does not make sense to go India just to buy the cam :)

Rain5533, I had got a call from a Bombay dealer today that he has a D800 in stock

Hi sir, how abt a used D3S?
Why, you selling?
Got me an MB-D12 at KL for RM 950. Also another battery at RM150. I find it crazy where the prices are concerned. Battery from 150 to 259. Grip from 950 to 1589. D800 from 9.7k onwards. D800e around 10.5k! My OC was hitting at me for being impatient... a couple of hundred and you get an e! Well, you can't win 'em all... Why the grip... Having used 'big' mamas like F3 with md, F4 with md, F5, then all the dx00 with battery pack and of course the D3, i feel a bit incomplete without the extra weight. Happy to drive back home on Thursday with my purchase...

.....looks like you have been taken for a ride ......... I guess you called them up too from time to time and they were were nonchalant about it ........

Is it a good idea to place a deposit with a merchant without any date committed on delivery of goods? ....with your deposit ....... they have you right where they want you ......

maybe that was supposed to be your set??

went 2 days ago - I'm from sydney - and the prices here and stock level (non existent) - are disappointing. Cheaper to buy in sydney for me. Even with the $4488 price quote less 7% post currency conversion... its cheaper from australia. I was like "wtf" myself.

Disappointed.
