Just collected my d700 from NSC. Their sales dept also had no idea when D800 will arrive although it stated end of march. My concern now whether spare parts are available at same time d800 arrived at our shore:-/

Just an update to fellow d700 user, NSC will still provide parts & service for D700 till 2018..

That's very good to hear :)

Look at how DDE priced their D700, I highly doubt this price. Just wanna rip of 500 to 1k out of the impatient ppl's pocket.

I think those shop is just testing the market with high price to see if ppl still pre-order.
If the pre-order is still high with that price i'm sure it will end up selling higher price than it should really be because of the willinness of ppl to pay high price just to get the D800

With the growing number of retailers in singapore, and the price stated in nikon US website to be SRP $2999.95USD. The price can't be more than 4k. infact shld be lower by quite a fair bit.

I really do think that either they will preorder from amazon. If not they will wait. I will wait if the price is ridiculous.

Today's Nikon announcement is putting a damper on the D800 and D4 enthusiasm with no actual retail release date announced for Singapore. :(

See Q&A with Masanobu Tsunoda, managing director of Nikon Malaysia & Singapore

What they seem to be saying: "as a small country, you must wait till the really important photographers in the big markets get all their needs satisfied before you can get at those shiny new toys."

D70 was launched in Singapore way ahead of the US and the rest of the world. Is Nikon Singapore losing power to the other offices ?

Hopefully end of march this is available already

So any one has updates on when D800 and D800E will arrive on our shores?

My guess is just before Photokina. :-/

I read from some site that the price of d800 is estimated 3,800 sgd.

Quite not possible anymore...
The exchange rate alone will be ard this price. But considering its availability and GST. It will likely hit above $4k during initial launch.

That seem right if GST is included. But it would mean the shops here are willing to sell at lower than MRSP. Knowing the shops here and for the first launch I wouldn't be surprised that most will sell at MSRP or even higher. So I suspect prices would be around the 3.9k to 4.1k at launch. Sigh, prices locally are too high. Will look to buy overseas.

You may not enjoy warranty coverage by Nikon Singapore.

No issue.

Pre-order from DDE then. I think they will likely be the first stall in sg that has D800.
