Since the product is the same, I presume "Best = retail not taking extra profit then they suppose to".
Wandering if Nikon will throw in memory card for D800 as they do with D4 with the XQD.

Usually when stuff is selling like hot cakes, just grab the item shoot and regret about pricing later, take a look at Canon side, although there is pricing for their 5D 3 from 4135 to even 4399 yet there are no stock for body anymore & some are regreting why they never rush and put their name on reserved/waiting list of their fav shops

And the XQD card is given due to the D4 is currently the only Camera can use it, thats why is a win win situation for both the user & Sony, free card for the customers & free advertisment for Sony

and do not expect free gift from pro level bodies, take for example if you give all the free gifts such as Memory Card? Professionals will have tons of it for back up... Tripod? They may have tripod that can be worth up to $1k++... Bag? They may have more bags than their wife/spouse collection of LV bags...

$1K+ is for tripod, not bag... but nonetheless, this may be a valid statement for some, lol.

maybe some of them carry LV camera bag??:bsmilie:

While I am awaiting the D800, I went ahead and gave ye olde D70s a twirl. She may be getting old, but she still packs a mean punch!

Bro,

Is D70s a FF camera?

No, it's a DX format camera. Nikon's first full frame was the D3, which came many years after the D70s.

Once again, a camera is just a tool, it's the person behind it that makes the difference :)

Then again, we change camera mostly because when another better one comes along or when it really starts to irritate us when it couldn't perform :p

Indeed, very true. I'm changing because the D70s is in her last legs, I want wides to be WIDE and want to print big. :)

I m going to get my deposit paid for my d800. Anyone doing that??

Classic. Nikon's first "consumer class" DX camera. Comes with a CCD sensor too. 6MP and a 2" screen. Or was it 2.5"?

I'm down to my D70 too after letting go of my newer dSLRs.

Indeed a classic. If I am not mistaken, the D70s has a 2.5" display, which is pretty much the only difference it has from the D70, apart from the jack for the wired remote.

The tonality from the sensor at base ISO is great, as is the microcontrast. Mine works brilliantly on the odd days that she decides to be functional. :D

Nope, 1.8" for D70, 2" for D70s. Flash sync speed of up to 1/500.

Ah. Yes. Which explains my really small and low resolution LCD screen. Hehe.
