[AT] Travel the World with my D800E

Took this monkey in a wildlife sanctuary near Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, with only a 50mm f/1.4 lens. The good thing with the D800/E is that it is sufficiently high resolution to give you the option of more aggressive cropping if need be, as in this shot.

Old wall, old advertisement, old part of town. Only thing new is New Delhi. (Multiple shots stacked in post processing)

This is near the end of the line for the train from Singapore to Malaysia's East Coast state of Kelantan. The last station is called Tumpat and that branch of the service is called the Jungle Railway.

It is news to me that Kelantan, Malaysia, a state so well publicized for its conservative Islamic practices, actually has over 200 Buddhist temples, many of them Thai temples due to the proximity to Thailand and the historical links between Kelantan and Siam. And that the largest sitting Buddha, standing Buddha AND reclining Buddha in Southeast Asia are not located in Bangkok but in a little town called Tumpat in Kelantan. This is the Sitting Buddha and I'll have to hunt for the rest when I next visit.

Some of the photos were shot while on vacation as well, and I took advantage of the Vesak holidays to visit Bali. This is a traditional Balinese ritual, photographed in Ubud.

Andrew, you make everyday life interesting thru your images....and there are those who often say to me that there is nothing to shoot. Following your postings.

Great shot, i love this. Wonder how it will look like in B/W?

Very kind of you.

Thanks; just for you, I did it in B&W :). But seriously, it was a good suggestion. Same place but a slightly different scene to avoid repetition.

Thanks Andrew. The whole mood just transformed. Superb! :)

Nice shots and thanks again for sharing. Each one is different.

This is the Bund in Shanghai. I only managed to bracket two exposures while sitting on the parapet before I was chased away by the policeman

I wouldn't ordinarily call this Travel Photography, but I woke up when the rest of the party were still sleeping, so I took a walk around the garden of my hotel and saw an ant lit by the sun.
