[AT] Travel the World with my D800E

Here's why it's nice to trek in Scotland. This was taken last year but I never got to merging the two photos together till now.

This is Putra Mosque in Putrajaya, Malaysia. People call it the pink mosque. Ladies need to cover up to enter and if you're a tourist, you can borrow overalls. And they are pink too.

Enjoyed the series bro. Hope there is more coming.

Thank you bro, will try my best, whenever there are opportunities. Here's KL's Merdeka Square exactly at noon (see clock). I don't know why I chose this time; it was so so hot.

A romantic evening, anyone? Here's the place. Have to drive on B-roads from KL to the coast, past Banting and the historic Morib Beach and further on to Tanjong Sepat.

This image was snapped a year ago, but since we are now into the season of Singapore's National Day Parade rehearsals, this seems a good time to share this. I remember the great atmosphere for photographers and perhaps not-so-great environment for this non-photographer.

Andy,

Thanks for sharing. Enjoyable series.

Glad to share some glimpses and thanks for viewing. I try to squeeze in time to shoot when I travel for work. I'd like to share this idea for those who want to take pictures outside Singapore but perhaps don't travel often. Get on the mailing list of low-cost airlines and watch out for either zero fare or some super low fare deals. Just go ahead and book day trips on a Saturday or Sunday... yes day trips to a bunch of nearby destinations as and when they become available. And then fly there alone, just to take photos and return the same day. This way, you don't have to take leave, don't have to worry about accomodation and being away just a day makes it easier for those with family. In no time, you'll have shots of Bangkok, Yangon, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Medan, Lombok, Bali, Miri etc etc... whatever you fancy. But you have to be pretty passionate to do such a thing. I have a friend who does day trips to Hong Kong for just $200 all-in. Depart at 6 am arrive around 10 am and then you have the whole day to shop for gear or shoot and then take the evening flight back. It's do-able. I thought he was crazy, but then I think we can also buy all our lenses, camera bodies, accessories at 20-30% off on one trip....hmmm, so tempting

The side view of old Federal Cinema in Kuala Lumpur. The cinema was a popular haunt for movie-goers in the 80s but as with the fate of most single-screen cinemas, it closed in August 2001, became a pub for a few years, before reopening in May 2007.
