From the youtube videos, it is me and my imagination that i saw Martin grinning
after the tackle ????
The response from Steve Bruce, 'He would never, ever do anything malicious. He has mis-timed the tackle, and I've seen it. Some would say it is not even a yellow card.'
Is he for real !!!!
A broken leg, possibly a career ending tackle and it is 'not even a yellow card'.
I know managers are supposed to defend their players but I feel this comment is just outright irresponsible. Let's see him say the same thing if it was one of his player on the receiving end.
Official reply from Taylor and Birmingham, 'But Martin Taylor is adamant there was no malicious intent in the tackle and he is deeply upset by the extent of Eduardo's injury.
'Having reviewed the incident, this (no malicious intent) is clearly the case. The club and Martin Taylor would like to send their very best wishes to the player for a speedy recovery.'
Well there maybe no malicious intent, but the tackle itself IS very malicious! It occured in the 3rd minute, which simply shows this is their gameplan right from the start. And now everyone of them is behaving like a coward to save their own skin.
I hope the FA suspend Taylor for a lenghty period to send a warning ALL players in EPL against such tackles in the future!!!
This incident, well as an Arsenal fan, could either sink their morale lower and loose the title OR stir up their fighting spirit for their fallen comrade Eduardo!

if anyone has seen the two photos which came in yesterday's new paper....taylor completely missed the ball aiming into eduardo's side, he was going straight for ed's shins. (and the ball was infront of ed, and not even in line of which taylor's direction he's sliding in from)

The horrific broken leg suffered by Eduardo on Saturday could have seen the Arsenal striker lose his foot.
Leading osteopath and physiotherapist Tim Allardyce believes that only the prompt treatment of the club's medical staff prevented the Croatian from requiring an amputation.
Such was the severity of the injury that Allardyce feels even intensive surgery may not be enough to allow the striker to make a full recovery in the future.

"You can lose the foot, simple as," he told BBC Radio Five Live.
"Once the foot dislocates like that, it can badly damage the blood vessels and it's very, very serious.
"The foot needs to be relocated immediately or almost immediately to save it and emergency surgery is completely necessary.
"Imagine your worst ankle sprain and make it about 10 times worse and you're getting close to where Eduardo is.
Mobility
"He could be out for several months. We'd expect a normal person to be out for about six months.
"With the level of fitness he'll need to get back to, it could be anywhere around the nine months mark."
He added: "Potentially, the bones will heal but there's all the other damage around the area, such as the ligament damage, the tendon damage, the soft tissue damage, the damage to the joint capsule.
"He's going to have to do an awful lot of work to regain full mobility and strength to the ankle to get him up to the standard of playing international football. Whether he can do that or not, I'm not sure."
Confidence
Allardyce also revealed that any person sustaining such an injury is likely to suffer psychological trauma which could prevent them from putting themselves in a similar situation ever again.
"Once you've sustained such a serious injury, you'll always tend to be aware of it before you regain full strength and confidence," he said.
"It will have a big psychological effect, certainly for the next year, maybe for several months after that."

He is a left footer.. and Martin broke his left foot.

The papers and the pundits on TV are attacking AW for his post match comments and Gallas for being a 'prima donna'.
I always knew the pundits were sh!t for brains but this is a new low! Instead of addressing the problem of tackles like this becoming commonplace for less talented teams to compete with better ones, they sweep it under the rug and concentrate on the words of AW spoken in a fit of anger!
AW & Gallas are only human to feel angry that their own is injuried before their eyes. "He have not one malicious bone in him".. yeah and he goes out to break others.
Just want to say if I go drink driving and knocks someone down and killed that person, I would still go to jail even though I "..have not one malicious bone in me".
Time for The Arsenal Team to stand up and be counted.

Will Adebayor and Bendtner pass to each other ? By Myles Palmer
In the AC Milan game, Arsene played 4-5-1 at home against a team of old men who came for a 0-0.
I wanted to see Bendtner come on after 54 minutes, not 74.
Bendtner and Adebayor had 20 minutes together and did not pass to each other.
At Birmingham they had 87 minutes together and did not pass to each other.
When Adebayor was clean through, and could have set up Bendtner for 3-1 to finish the game, he preferred to shoot and Maik Taylor saved. Bendtner had sprinted from the halfway line to support that counter-attack and Adebayor could have given him a tap-in.
OK, both are big centre forwards and they go for the same balls and take up the same positions. That's something they could improve, if they are willing to work with each other and for each other.
Watching the Birmingham tape again, looking for some positives before the Aston Villa game, I was appalled at how many times Arsenal players chose NOT to pass to Bendtner. He was a leper. He was radioactive. They avoided him. Bendtner was running left and right, coming deep, looking for a pass, a chance to show what he could do. But everybody passed to somebody else.
That's why Arsenal did not beat 10 men. They were also playing with 10 men because they refused to pass to Bendtner.
I used to enjoy Newcastle when they had two centre forwards, Alan Shearer and Les Ferdinand. Both scored tons of goals and I was a big fan of Sir Les, having watched him a lot at QPR. They proved that two No. 9s can play together. Well, they proved that two English No. 9s can play together. A friendly rivalry can be productive.
It's a team game. Aston Villa will be a big test of Arsenal's nerve, teamwork and team spirit.
