hey guys, want to do a post to see how many of you guys are using half cases for your rangefinder. and also post the brand of the case you are using and the feedbacks for them :)

mine is the original Yashica.. Got it from the previous owner.. it doesn't really improve ergonomics, but to a certain extent improve light leak prevention.. :)

I use case because it helps grip and prevent dings. some options in the market i know about i share below

. Zhou case (chiif and ebay got sell) - cheap and good.

. Luigi case (www.leicatime.com) - if you need full grade italian leather or other custom details for your half case, go for this. But take note ordering process may take some time and cost is alot higher. website also abit messy for me.

. Leica Eveready case - its got nice design and leica name. abit hard to find tho. I see before in Cathay Photo

. Artisan & Artist case - looks nice on internet, but i never try before. hope some bro here can help comment

. Arnuvo case - another good looker that i havent tried before, with nice colors and threading.

thx both. so far i have only tried zhou case. there seems to be some alignment problem with some of their m8/m9 cases. some tend to block abit of the zoom in/out scrolls.another i tried doesnt have that problem. *i only tried 1 black and 1 brown. cause only 1 black left to test and it was the one having the alignment problem while the brown one works fine.* still waiting for the new batches to reach chiif so i can go down and try again :) anyone using zhou can verify this? any similar problems with any the other brand that you guys have used before? i wanted to get the case mainly for grips and preventing dings as well *artspraken.

dun worry, the leather will stretch over time and the shape will conform to ur camera over time. another thing u wanna bear in mind is that it is good the scroll wheel dun protrude too much - this is to prevent ur scroll wheel from ding also.

note however: zhou case is not compatible with VF magnifier from matchtechnical. if you buy the addon magnifier, it won't fit properly with zhou case. I have removed my zhou case from my M9 coz i am using the VF magnifier and the Leica extra grip.

no case for me, as it's easier & quicker to reload film.. ;)

thx alot for the info :) The black one i tried actually have a small part of the leather piece blocking the scroll, which made the scroll difficult to turn. maybe it is just that piece i guess ?

riceball?

I use the A&A cases for all my Leicas - M9, M7, MP and X1. But I use the Luigi strap for them as the leather is nice and soft. My Luigi straps are of only fixed length so I don't have the ugly buckle.

I considered the Luigi case, but looking at the design I felt that it would be cumbersome to remove vs the A&A case for changing the SD card/film/battery. So far am quite happy with the A&A half cases since they're quite easy to take off and put back on. The quality of the A&A case is really good. Not sure about the Luigi cases though.

Luigi has very nice leather though, and he sometimes does not answer to your emails. I believe this is because he is quite busy.

I have no cases for both my Ms.

Easier to load film, besides, the case only hides my exotic leather.... heehee....
