just curious...anyone tried the 50 1.0L before? Any idea how it stacks up to the newer 50 1.2L?

all reviews on the web says that the 50 1.0L is a really poor performer.

Ho ho! I just got the 50L 1.2!

Shooting at 1.2 is very exciting... never know when you breathe in, the plane of focus has shifted off or not.

It looks like it'll take more practice to ensure exact focus with this lens.

Just got the 85L.. now all my pics is OOF.. woohoo..hands shake too much

so 85 1.2 next? ;)

Hmmmm is it that bad? When I first played with the 85 1.2L II (first time with such big apertures) I never had problems with OOF due to handshake. And I always shoot near MFD for the creamy bokeh ;p Maybe it's my six years of shooting training helping me out.

maybe is SAF training also..... breath control, steady pressure on trigger :)

Just checking.. when using f1.2, do you guys use center AF point, focus and recompose? Or use one of the corner AF points to focus and shoot?

From what I have tried today, after I focus and re-compose, the picture goes OOF.

Well then you should know the answer shouldn't you?

You need Katz-Eye. Haha.

And dare to be different. I expect you will teach me how to use Powerpoint for imaging needs the next time we meet up? :bsmilie:

Yes, definately dare to be different. Why use powerpoint when you can print & cut? :P

My father says too expensive.. I got the 100 macro along with the 50L though...

Focus and recompose is definitely a NO at 1.2...

Even with slight movement the focus point is shifted far out... -.-"

Every L lens has it advance and limitation.
Understand the lens capability will sure help the user get the best out of the lens.
Need practice and practice to master the lens best use in what condition.
