April 2009 Pentax Outing - Suggestions & Registration

For these outings, I think most of us are able to park 2 - 4 hrs to get together on a weekend, but if it's Desaru, it'll be different (at least logistically).

So UBIN's the choice?

Let's do Ubin this time. Get up early, and reach there for breakfast. Then take ferry over to the island. Enjoy a half to whole day walk, come back w/ some nice photos and Arthur's free drinks are awaiting

Ok I'm gonna reveal something embarrassing, I don't know how to ride a bicycle :cry::embrass:. Also I never been to Ubin, so I would love to go there before I leave Singapore.

Yeah lah.. Desaru will need alot more planning, wont be just a casual outing. Stay over night at chalet at Ramunia would be great. I'll be organizing one soon with some of my photo kakis here. When I do, I'll let you guys know. Hey, cycling in Ubin is quite fun too... did that several times before.

been to ubin twice with the westshooterz.. my suggestion is not to cycle if we're intending to take photos.. it's very troublesome and there's the risk of accidents and injury/damage. it's better to take a casual walk around the jetty area and perhaps hire 1 or 2 vans to ferry us to chek jawa (or other photo spots) and back.

Yeah.. the route to Chek Jawa is quite tough if you're not a seasoned cyclist.

Sounds very good. I join in at any weekends. I just plan to Ubin for a walking-view.

agree with darren. walk better ...

bring mosquito repellent ... the last time i went there with my young children, we were attacked by giant mozzi :angry:

No worries, there are some shops renting tricycles so no problem for you to cycle.
