Firstly, for the sample shots.
Its never easy to go through the tedious process of doing them and always subject to nitpick and scrutiny. (almost like a thankless task)

Thanks. I have stated this is not a scientific test so if there is anything to pick, pick one's nose instead. I can probably come up with a more conclusive one if anyone wants to fund it. :)

Whats the opinion regarding using the Pentacon CZJ lenses on a 5D?
Will they be too clunky? (thats my main concern)

They are monsters with the adapters.

I have a question. Which 35mm lens should I get for portraits (pleasing background blur, not overly high contrast, 3D pop)? Please rate in terms of pure performance, not ratio of perf/price nor solely on price.

(1) Sony RX1 with Sonnar 35/2 - $4k++
(2) CZJ Flektogen 35/2.4 - ~$300
(3) CZ Distagon 35/1.4 - ~$2.5k
(4) Contax 35/1.4 - ~$2k
(5) Leica M9 + Cron IV 35/2 - ~$9k
(6) Sigma 35/1.4 - ~$1.2k

No Voigtlander Ultron 35mm f/1.7 asph lens? $650 wif d LTM to M adapter. Quite a performer.

[edit] Please keep your photos coming

i am letting go my Carl Zeiss Jena Tessa 50 2.8 1Q aluminum version in m42, pm me if anyone is interested

Glad to such a huge community of Zeiss users. I'm a video shooter and have begun to collect manual lenses to shoot with.

Just managed to get a CY 50mm 1.4 and a CY 85mm 1.4 AEG. Love the build quality of these lenses. Shall shoot something with them sometime soon.

im using Magic Lantern with focus masking in Liveview. Shiok for MF shooting

Anyone interested in ordering focusing screens for their 5d3?

Focusing Screen

Wow! This looks interesting...really brings back memories...
I wouldn't mind getting one...which do you have in mind for the 5d3?
I was thinking maybe the 6D Ec-B. But who is going to install it?

For 5D3, the screen is not supposed to be user replaceable. However, there are instructions to replaced it from the screen supplier.

Was planning a DIY for myself.

My idea was to do an order, asked if you guys wanted coz it's the same shipping for 3 pieces.

I'm actually looking at the Ec-B. With my kind of eyes, I can doubt I can see the prism better than a split image.

Not sure how many of you caught the lightning show on display a few nights ago.

Which lens were you using for those two shots MWP?

Anyone using Zeiss 135mm APO? Like to hear some views.

sweet, MWP
Thanks. Garden by the Bay is pretty awesome between 6.30-7.30pm. Occasionally, there are mini concerts on evenings of weekends. The ambience is just fantastic. There is also the light and sound show. Too bad I did not have a tripod nor master the HDR on my 5D3 in time. The skylight changes very quickly.

Updated under the photos. For Garden by the Bay, really need the widest lens available.
