Kenneth and MWP, I got the EOS converted Contax N 100mm Macro about 2 months ago and have yet to find the time to really test the lens. I am still on overseas assignment and will be back next week. If any of you guys are interested to test this lens, I am glad to loan the lens to you when I am back.

Obelix, the Contax N 100 is the favourite lens of Bo-ming in the entire series. I am sure it is top notch. Will wait for you to post pictures when u hv the time.

I have not kept both lenses. My main application is to take portrait of my family. I felt the 35/2 contrast to be too strong and unflattering for human subjects. If you hv the patience to pp to reduce contrast and soften it, it is wonderful. I don't. I actually like CY35/1.4 but yet to find one in my price bracket.

My only complain of 100MP since I do not do macro. The focusing throw of a macro lens to be unsuitable for tracking moving subjects. So I am anticipating the 135/2 APO. It is also a bit farther to my 85mm.

Actually when shooting in raw, it is very easy to lower contrast with the reduction of "clarity" if you are using PS. This gives a nice soft focus glow similar to the Nikon softfilter of old...during film period.
Yup, the 100MP would not be suitable for moving subjects, that's why I have the Sigma 85 or Canon's 70-200II IS.

Obelix, that's a very generous offer. I'm also overseas but will be back for CNY 10-17Feb. If you are back then too, drop me a pm. ;)

That option is also available in LR. In fact, the picture above was adjusted with contrast -12 and clarity -10. This lens can easily create image with the 3D pop. Look at the stretching arm for a while, you will start to see the 3D feel to it. There are lots of great lenses in this focal length.

Jumped on the Zeiss bandwagon. I am very happy with the image quality but am not able to get consistent results using the green dot in my Nikon to confirm the focus. This is particular true for distance between 1-2m and beyond for my Distagon 2.8/21. Any suggestion to get consistent results other than live view?

Distagon 2.8/21

Are you by any chance using the D800/D800E?

I jumped and got the 100MP...;p

At f2.8, 1/100s the DOF is pretty shallow:

Slightly better at f4, 1/100s though still shallow:

Shot with AWB, I find the colors very natural and pleasing, and the bokeh is just awesome, even at f4!

Swee lah. Now got chance to compare your ZE100 MP with my N100 MP. :D

If anyone is interested, TK has got a new batch of Distagon 15mm f/2.8 now. Both ZF.2 and ZE mount.

Any af or mf primes in the range of 80-100mm? Looking for excellent optics and iq.

5D3+ZE100MP...:D

Hi Bro Kenneth67C,

Is it difficult to focus using the 5D3 with Zeiss lenses? I wanted to upgrade my 5D2 to 5D3 previously but held back because the focusing screen cannot be changed. Please do give me your advice. Thanks.

Was the Contax Vario Sonnar N 24-85 modified by Conurus to EF complete with autofocus, aperture control and metering capability?

Yes all my Contax N lens were conversions by Conurus with all the capabilities as you've mentioned. He's quite an amazing guy as he managed to
break the protocol between N lens & EOS bodies enabling them to communicate with one another. No regrets absolutely in obtaining them.
