Anyone wants to share some E6 chemicals?

Thanks losheng for organising this E6 chemical set. :) To everyone out there who thinks that the chemicals are steep in price, perhaps you can take a look at what you are getting. :) You can push, pull to your preference and best of all you can push your slides to full 2 stops now compared to 1.5 stops in fotohub. :)

Sweat100, you are most welcome! With all that liquor in the background, looks like you are all set for some really interesting cocktails, both for your guests as well as your films :)

tat a lot of chemicals.
so will there be a demo session? or anyone planning to provide 4x5 E6 development service?

Not trying to be a wet blanket, but it isn't recommended to push or pull your slides film. Not too much if you do want to. Experimental test is good, I will be doing some X-Pro of 2 sheets of Ektar 100 4*5 when I am free. (Shot already and sleeping in freezer now) Nevertheless, it is good to experience E-6 developing yourself.

Sometimes it is a matter of getting the picture with poorer output or no picture due to lack of speed. Choose either one, I will take the former on an exceptional basis where I have no choice but to push it. Remember, we only have the good Provia 400X as the fastest slide available. 1.5 stop pushed is like ISO 960? Sometimes we need ISO 1600 haha.

Working on it! Pal! It won't be long! :)
Wah bro, you really planning ahh.. I find development the most time and labour intensive.. and the profits not stellar due to the running costs.. but you still have my support (though I dun shoot 4x5)!! haha

Don't break the ice so fast ma, stir their impatience a bit more ;p
give advance notice cos we need to source for the film first haha

Clearly I'm not going to get rich developing films, and probably no one will in this day and age. But life is about more than spreadsheets - can't just measure everything by the dollar. What's life without a little passion? Aren't we all are - still stubbornly holding on to a declining art form in the digital age :-)

I'm going to see how far it takes me - hoping just to achieve cost recovery for the equipment and chemicals. It's going to be a little challenging to try to pull everything together on a part time basis - who knows - the adventure might die before its first breath! - so don't hold your breath just yet :-)

(No concept testing, no market analysis, no price testing, no customer profiling - exactly the way MBA teaches how not to start a business :-))

kgston: btw - we should definitely meet up for a chat, since you have been running the development and scanning for a while now. Definitely a lot to learn! :-)

LOL! But it might be good if there are enough people stepping forward to say this is the stupidest idea they've heard in their life - then I might really have to re-take a hard look at it! :-)

Sure.. if your office is at middle road, its quite convenient for me also.. ;)

What you say is right.. only can operate on cost recovery mode and maybe at most after recover cost, earn pocket money to support film hobby.. haha.. I also run my dev and scanning out of passion, not really for the profits.. so that people can have the choice of good quality BW dev and scans..

I don't think addressing a market gap is a bad idea; especially if its a regional market gap.. its the best way to start a monopoly!! haha.. but if you are planning to do as part time; like me, then maybe you also don't want too much volume.. just service the LF group and maybe the 1 or 2 photographers who need to push their film to extreme speeds.. haha

Finally got hold of the 4x5 reel... Hope to be able to do in the next 2 weeks (if time permits). As mentioned, provia 400x is designed to be pushed, the effect and dynamic range gives the feel of cinematic film which maybe desirable for some instances. I agree that it is good to shoot as rated, push with a purpose in achiving a desired goal, not any how for the sake of pushing. Cheers. :)

Hey! I'm keen in getting some E6 chemicals for my own development, do let me know if I can purchase some or if there is another order soon!

Hey, there's definitely enough for one more portion. I will pm you my contact and we can arrange a time to meet.

Just found this thread a month too late.
I wonder if any one of you still have any extra chemical that I may purchase from you.
And, if and when there is another round of order, please do let me know.

Hey, guys, with GimpX interested to pick up some chemicals, I'm happy to coordinate the purchase of another lot to share. Do we have 2 or 3 more people interested to get some E6?
