Anyone wants to share some E6 chemicals?

Hi Losheng

the one you are using should be Fuji Hunt Pro6 right?

found this:

Fuji Hunt offer three processes for developing E6 films. Fuji Hunt Pro6 chemicals are designed for prolabs and finishers. Photographers and small prolabs wishing to process in-house can use the 3 bath Fuji Hunt 3E6 product, or the full 7-bath Chrome 6X chemistry. Both of these products are available in convenient 5L kits for the smaller user.

The system that we are using is C6R. From the documentation, it looks identical to the Pro6 system:

Photo Finishing - Colour Reversal Film

It's might just be a difference in regional branding. The local Fujihunt does not manufacture the other 2 kits meant for hobbyists.

Hey, guys, I'm going to place another order for the E6 chemicals from Fujihunt Singapore. This might possibly be the last batch made in Singapore, due to declining demands. Price is likely to increase sharply if future supplies is going to come from Belgium. So if you would like to restock any of the E6 chemicals, please let me know asap. If you would like to get a complete set for yourself, total cost for 1 bottle of each step will come up to about $300. They include:

1. First Developer (1 x 5L, dilution 1+4)
2. Reversal Bath (1 x 1L, dilution 1+19)
3. Color Developer A (1 x 4.63L)*
4. Color Developer B (1 x 4.63L)*
5. Conditioner (1 x 5L, dilution 1+4)
6. Bleach (1 x 5L, dilution 1+1)
7. Fixer (1 x 5L, dilution 1+4)
8. Final Rinse (1 x 250ml, dilution 1+99)
9. First Developer Starter (1 x 1L, dosage: 5ml/L), and
10. Color Developer Starter (1 x 1L, dosage: 5ml/L)

*Each 4.63L of A and B combines to make 25L of working solution.

Instead of diluting each step to 20-25L of working solution, you can mix the solution on demand. This extends the shelf life.

The most common question that I've been asked is: how many rolls can the above process? In this configuration, most of the chemicals can be mixed to 25L of working volume. If you use 300ml of working solution to process each roll of 135 slides, then the set is enough to do about 80 rolls.

Also, there has been a lot of discussion in the past about the difference between the 6-step and 3-step E6 kits. After dwelling in E6 for a year, this is my understanding: the 6-step kit is designed for professional labs that use large machines. Individual steps allows fine tuning of replenishment rates, and more importantly, adjustments of color accuracy by tweaking the processing time and concentration of individual steps. On the other hand, 3-step kits are meant for hobbyists with less stringent requirements. This means that it's kind of a hit and miss thing with the 3-step kit - if you get the colors spot on, that's fantastic. But if not, it's going to be hard to tweak the steps.

Lastly, this current batch of E6 chemicals is freshly made in Singapore. Fujihunt Singapore doesn't make the 3-step kit, so the only alternative is to ship the Tetanal kits from overseas. There's nothing wrong with using the 6-step kits at home - it just takes more work, and more storage space. However, once you look at the colors of the slides - man ... you'll find all these labour worth the while :-)

Hey, guys,

Just posting a note to see if anyone would like to get a set of Fujihunt's C6R (E6) Chemical. For a few months Fujihunt has told me that price will increase because the low production volume reduces the economy of scale for raw materials, some of which needs to be refrigerated and has only a shelf life of about 1.5 years. Before the demand from China strips the current stock empty, we have another chance at getting the current stock before what could be a dramatic price increase.

Please get in touch with me to let me know what you need before Wednesday, August 7, 2013.

Let's help Fujihunt to help us to continue enjoy shooting reversal films!
