It's very simple... If he wants to get into your pants, he will have no patience. He will be pushing/hinting at things, or when you go to a beach, book a room with specifically a single queen-sized bed instead of 2 beds (2 beds to make it your choice if you want to join him or not...)
As for purse... That's the easiest to spot. Freeloaders have even less patience than the hormonally-charged ones.
Chivalrous guys (who tend to be broke) will make sure that anything physical will happen when the girl wants it, when she's the one who shows that she's ready for more intimacy (even if it's just partial nudity, or sleeping in the same bed together (cuddling), no *ahem* yet). They will try to pay whenever possible, even if it's their last cent. Just don't slam the chivalrous guys when they tell you they can't drive you home because they have no car, but only can take you home in a cab...
But then again, the chivalrous guys almost never get the girl because the hormonally-challenged ones are aggressive and sweep the girls off their feet... The chivalrous ones always get called "shy", "slow" or "not interested in me" simply because we show respect for the girl and don't try to pressure her. Ah, life.
Nothing wrong with that if it's your preference. Though, if it was late at night/early morning, I'd say you should drive straight to your house and the guy should take a cab home from there... Just to make sure you got home safely.

Gosh, that's just a normal day where many stupid people (sorry for my bluntness) are going to pay extra in everything just to remind only this time in a year what they should be expressing everyday.
I don't call it the lover's day, I call it a BIG MARKETING SUCCESS...
You feel alone... you don't want to date coz of this special someone then how ??? How many pages for no solution ?
You want him, you take him, or at least you do what's necessary to have a perfect definitive YES/NO answer from him, then you move on... What's the point ???
You seem difficult to satisfy though, but I wish you good luck as I perfectly understand the concept of "spark" (am in the same situation though not carrying anymore the hassle of the onethatIcannothave).

To all singles : Don't feel sad/lonely/miserable of being alone tonite, that's just another day... Balance of all things will compensate your lonelyness very soon.

I like your atitude towads life. But I disagree about the "stupid" part. Such comments can only come from those who are single, never dated b4, or are attached but feeling sore about something (lack of money)?
For me, yes, I think to pay for sky high prices for roses just on this day is not practical. The money would be better spent on something more meaningful. That's just me. But I won't call people who pay $10 for a rose stupid.
When u are really in love, you'd do anything to show how much you appreciate your partner. Money is of secondary issue. As someone just pointed out, is it stupid to celebrate cny where people queue up before the sun rises just to buy some bak kua from chinatown? (Actually they are not even queuing for something healthy!)
