Anyone here thinking of jumping ship?

I jumped to Nikon D300 last month form Canon 40D.
Reason:
1) Cheaper lens that come with hood and pouch, Canon never.
2) Flash more accurate than Canon. (lesser settings to achieve optimal results)
3) Give more features than Canon, like bulit-in image editing, Spot meter to the focusing point, 100% viewfinder etc
4) Better noise than Canon (Expeed processors)

Always consider.... the $ sense.

Sometimes even other brands can still take beautiful photos.

Got another friend who did the same thing earlier on.
But that was because of the convenience of the 18-200mm some time back

I just did 2 days ago.....from canon 20D to pentax k10D..

reason?....well, the IS, dust cleaning function, weather sealed body and compatibility issue with my old m42 pentax lenses is screaming in my sleep...JUMP SHIP NOoooooww!!

Im once a Canon user I sold off all my gear to join the "Dark" side. Im a "Happy Man" here:bsmilie::lovegrin:

 I am doing so soon...

Speaking of which... I have read of many Canon users jumping ship over to the Nikon camp in recent years.
Not so much of Nikon jumping over to Canon... correct me if i'm wrong??

some of my frens had switched from Canon to Nikon or thinking of but not the other way...

Zeiss is releasing ZE lenses for EF mount.

Dude, it's a camera system, not a spouse :)

Not when you already have significant investments in the optics. ;p It's going to be more costly than a spouse.

you are a brave man, i salute you. :bsmilie:

depends though, some spouses will not mind too much, some will lock your dry cabi (as i saw on a thread recently), some will give you black face until you grow too old to go out and shoot.

Involve her in your hobby.. Make her do the photoshopping. ;p Mine love to edit photos, so she can tell a good photo from a bad one. Luckily most of the optics I use are my dad's. ;p

My wife still prefers to use a Coolpix P4 when I have a Finepix F100fd which I think is better. She loves Nikon too! ;p

HAHA! Same I'm also Fuji compact shooter...but Nikon DSLR man. :)

I don't think buying a fuji is called jumping ship as you don't have to buy new lenses and accessories.Anyway,I would buy an S5 pro for a second body if I had the $;)

Fuji body with all Nikon lens..... hmm.... not really jump ship, more like getting a second house...

Beat this Canon -I got a Nikon 16-85mm VR ED for $880.

Canon equivleant 17-85mm IS.... the review is lousy. You see many people letting go.

Or if you have 5D can get the 24-105mm L.

At least nikon entry level lenses has more "high quality ED glasses".
Canon must get the expensive L.
