How is your 24-70mm doing ? Nice images ? Heard that with Nano glass the images are nicer :dunno:isszit true ?

It is extremely sharp and the Nano glass does a fantastic job of cutting down on reflections, resulting in better color and contrast; the benefits of the Nano coating is best seen in wideangle lenses where light comes in at a sharp angle.

That being said, I love the color and contrast I'm getting with this lens, but for some reason, its sharpness gets to me a somewhat. I can't quite put my finger on what it is that is irritating me and all I can really say is that the sharpness is quite "jarring", sort of like an "in-your-face" feeling.

Perhaps it's in the way the sharp areas transit into the out-of-focus areas of the image :dunno: somehow I prefer what I see in the 70-200 f/2.8 or the 50 f/1.4 or the 85 f/1.4. I just can't quite put my finger on it :mad2:

And unfortunately, I seem to have less of this issue with the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8, which is almost as sharp but doesn't have the smooth bokeh and great colors that the Nikkor 24-70 f/2.8 has. :faint:

Might be the contrast and color saturation. My portraits with the 105VR "jumped" at me, it was so different from my 50/1.4.

Very good review on this lens and the 14-24mm f2.8:thumbsup:

A must have lens together with the 14-24f/2.8G, if you are using a FF.

got mine from bally mid feb...sim lim square... try them.

Got to try one yesterday. The one qualm I had straight away was the zoom ring was way to close to the camera, would have much preferred it being switched with the focusing ring, its quiet hard to zoom when the camera is in the way. Quite a design flaw id say!

My friend was on business trip in Hong Kong and guess what he mentioned the 24-70mm f2.8 lens is also out of stock on most of the shops there. Guess this lens is a MUST have for many users comments and online reviews rate this as a GREAT lens Nikon has ever made.

The price in HK is much cheaper and NO Tax compared here. Here's a link on the prices there,

That is a good price. Where did you get it from?

Got my 24-70 today at lords.....pre-order like one day ahead, "yesterday" :)

A little on the high side..... $2600 include GST and cash deal.

was quoted 2480~2550 but all no stock and must queue..... and some even at RSP of 2699....

The itch was unbearable.. so no choice :P

** I am very impressed with this lens, leaving the sharpess aside, the color saturation & contrast is amazing, very similar to my 105VR which also have NANO coating...
