I wonder whats the push for one person to switch from a crop to full frame?

higher ISO needs? Wider angel view?
or crop frame has lower pic quality?

The depth of field control that you get with certain lenses is enhanced:

thats a whole kettle of fish.

wider angle view opens up a whole new way to shoot with lenses. plus theres this sense of awesomeness when you get to appreciate very sharp wide angle scenes that use up the whole area of the lens. its high definition/resolution wide angle thats not possible with a crop sensor.

Also allowing you to use 50mm instead of 35mm to shoot people indoors is a good enough reason for me. If you don't know what I mean, try taking a crop sensor body and reducing the shooting range significantly to get a feel e.g. use an 85mm instead of a 50mm for a while then move back to the 50mm after a while.

I usually use a 1D2, but that was with a rented 5D. Mrericlee is right. If you notice, that's a ISO 3200 shot right there too.

What is the lens size for this EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM for UV filter purchase?

I am thinking to share UV filters with my other equipment if possible. Cos... spending too much money already.
