Anyone checked out the O2 XDA II Mini?

Played with Simon's during SEED and I must confess it's damn chio ... only slightly bigger than my 7610 ... if my phone gets toasted again, I won't hesitate to get it! The future of compact PDA Phones is getting promising!

Trust me, O2 do a very good job on their XDA. I'm using a XDA2 now. Owned Palm Vx, Sony Clie, Palm Zire71, all run on Palm OS. Switched to PPC after getting XDA2. Never regretted it. Nothing to explain. :thumbsup:

Retail is about $1169 I think. Heard that the price is controlled by O2 but if you shopped around, might get it with some freebie.

How is the battery life ?

I own a Palm V, Vx, Zire71 and Ipaq h1910 .... and I hated the Ipaq battery life

Personally I feel that Palm OS is abit more intelligent then WIN CE !!

I concur. Get the t9 patch for xdaII and you can start SMSing with one hand as well. After I got that, I've stopped thinking about changing devices.

Using it now. Use it for my music instead of mp3 player. Just that you need to get a 2.5 to 3.5mm convertor or use the default one.

Was tempting to change my SE K700i with this one. How long does the battery last on yours? comparing between your previous mobile phone with this one? assuming same type of usage.

Can bring on Sunday to show me? Looks like may have to hold back on the Loox720 and get this one first.

Coz it is without line. Try getting the latest phone with some PDA functions without a line and you see the price.

Previously was using Ngage QD but for 1 thing, I charge them every night so power is not an issue. Moreover, this phone uses the mini USB so you can basically buy the cable anywhere in SLS or Funan. Only problem, the BT is not working well and you can't use BT dialup or file transfer (at least for my case now). Heard from another member that O2 is looking into this. Nowaday, I'm using this more than my PDA.

For me best is to keep PDA and phone apart... i used XDAII and H6365 before.. caused me tons of problems.. sigh missed calls, buggy OS, program hang... Microsoft products are all like that... maybe the next generation we will have a Apple or Linux OS Phone?

Now i use hx4700 (can view CF card photos!) and nokia phone. way better! :thumbsup:

there are compromises...for me, portability is most important and the smaller the gaget, the better. There are of cos, trade offs and it depends on the individual.
Yep, screen is small but hey, I dunt surf 2-3 hrs at one go. Usage is usually as & when I like it. I surf on my mini in my living room when the kiddos are using the PC....etc.

Personally I dun like carry a brick with me so even if the blackie (IIs) is nice & sleek, it's not for me. Also, I dun like lumps in my pockets and around my belt lugging a pda & phone.

Again, to each his own..... I like gagets small but I still prefer ample :gbounce: :gbounce: .....ahem.
