And the section I heard they closed is this one, the 天梯 Tianti (Stairway to heaven...Led Zepplin man):

I heard it is only accessible after office hours, where the guard will close up the guard post and go home. I heard people have to camp there on the top overnight.
And bro, the 100m stretch that you suffered is one of these?

similarly, I was so tired when climbing huangshan. On the 2nd day, just for the experience, I opted to take the bamboo "stretcher" sedan chair. Now I am a very big sized Bui Kia. They tried to get my business and say extra weight no extra money. PLus they ask me to carry my huge backpack (with camera equipment) on my lap. The 2 porters could hardly raise me up. So in the end a third guy came in. 2 porters at the back, and one in front (we were going uphill). These guys are damn hero man. But the ride was so scary as I am sitting at 45% incline, and they were bouncing the bamboo when carry to get a rhythm and we are all along a cliff. Scared the living daylights out of me. The porters had to take a 5 min break in between too. In the end I gave them 50rmb more. It was embarrassing man. Every one was staring at me, a big bui kia on a sedan. LOL
