JL photo is webbased online store.

Hi guys,

great to know so many A200 users.
I'm a newbie who just got the A200 not long ago.

i thk the $88 tripod brand fancier but now out of stock tillend march
or JL Photo website got one at $99

i also planning to get either these 2.
no tripods yet.

according to JL Photo's site at here.. http://www.jl-photo.net/products/tripod-y560

they are selling for $120 promotional price..

personally had experience with both tripods.. JL Photo's set is definitely worth the money.. fancier is a little filmsy (my personal experience with both)

check wif ur normally thr DRO ur set to DRO + or just DRO ?

normally i put it in DRO and standard

ever put DRO+ wif vivid turn out very redish

DRO is to bring out the detail on the dark area, do think before you apply it, do you need it or not?

Hi guys, sorry to ask u guys, would it be too late to buy the alpha 200 now?
Ok, i've been contemplating to purchase a dslr for a very long time, and i mean a long time, like over 1.5 yrs back.been deciding the a350/300 also..the main reason is that i might nt have the time to go shooting, due to work n studies, but i've always wanted to capture the nicest moments though...hehe...so what are your advices?

How much do i need to fork out? I understand other accessories are the dry box, filters...But i have sweaty palms, would it decrease the life span of the camera? haha...

If i were to upgrade what type of lenses could i look at? at which price range?

Thankew so much!

Why is it too late to buy A200?
Its quite a capable entry level DSLR.
Unless u need liveview then go for A300 or A350.

I am a user of A200 myself.
;)

Hi doink24,

it's never too late and the A200 is still a current model. :)
This is a very decent entry level cam which can give you good pictures.

Timing wise, it's up to yourself to manage. We do have bros who are juggling well too. A new set of A200 with kit lens will set you back at a RRP of $888. Do check with our usual friendly shops like MS Color or Cathay Photo to get the best deal. A dry cabinet will be necessary and should cost you about $100 depending on the size.

Sweaty palm is not an issue as I have pretty bad ones too. You may want to use a pair of open finger gloves when shooting to minimise the effect but I really see no such a need.

There are different types/grade of lenses for different usage and you can take a look at the personal classified section for a feel.

Hope to see you in the Alpha family soon. ;)

Hi bro, thanks for your reply...so for now i think the kit lens shld be sufficient.tripod?..but say if i am on the go, and i wana trfs my pics frm the cf card to my ext hdd, must i get an other gadgets? thanks

Depending on what you want to shoot. For landscape & night photography, a tripod is a must, otherwise, handheld shots are ok.

For ext HDD get those which allows you to transfer from your CF directly if you want.

I am interested in buying the a200, but i saw over @ the b&s section, a 2nd hand a200 is for sale, the standard packages, selling @ 550, is it worth it?

worth it.
but do check with the seller if got kit lens or just body.

It's definitely worth it:)

I bought mine @ 520 with kit lens, 2 x 2GB Sandisk II, extra battery, previous owner used only 2 month. Super duper worth:)

I think for any entry level DSLR camera , the brand and make does not make a big difference unless you are brand consious. All these cameras can give good images ... BTW I am a SOny User. I bought SOny cos it was most affordable for me for a start in using DSLR.

If you already have sony, make full use of it. If you have nikon or canon, go ahead explore how to make full use of the camera! Thats what photography is all about.
Cheers
