Any Reliable Camera Store in Perth, Australia?

I'll be going down to perth next week, for the summer! and have confirmed my flight and trip!!!

Just a lil anxious & excited here, I am asking around for recommendations for good camera shops for lens, if you guys know any?

If you have been there or know of good shops, do let me know! I offer to help you guys look for good deal too!

The Camera Shop Perth is.... Perth in Scotland
Camera Store is an online shop

PRA imaging is good PRA
Quality camera is good too (online shop) http://www.qualitycamera.com.au
Team digital is another good one

Some of the "camerahouse" shops are only O-K. but ones which get good reports are the "CameraLand camerahouse" in Leederville and "Valentines camerahouse" in fremantle. Gerry Gibbs seems to have some gear too.

from what i remember, the prices down under not really attractive. although the exchange rate now is.

Probably can find some good deals if you :-
a) can get stock purchased at last year's prices/exch rates
b) claim back your GST paid - Tourist Refund Scheme

You can check some of PRA's prices on their web page and see if it pleases you after conversion.

There are camera shops there, in the city-area you could check out
Camera solutions ( I don't like them)
Perth camera house (I also don't like them)
Plaza cameras (they haven't upset me)

I think it is worth taking a bit of an extra walk to Newcastle street where you can go to PRA and round the corner on Stirling street a bit further down is Camera electronics
and if you keep going even further after a few turns you can reach Team Digital

I think they are the ones in Perth I like - more pro stuff

but also, depends what you want to buy. I never considered Perth as a good place to buy gear, we usually look online, order from hk, over east (which orders from hk), or buy when we go to hk/s'pore.
but come and spend spend spend here is good Help our economy a bit Hahahah

I am headed to Sydney next week. Seems the AUD is lower than SGD and they gave a GST refund of 10% for tourists. Perhaps this is a great place to buy lenses and body.

Does anyone know of any good camera shops in Sydney?

I will try to get a map and try to navigate my way through Perth city and find PRA. Some prices are quite attractive, but maybe they haven't updated their website yet. :sweat:

My preferences were leaning towards nikon lenses.

I'm already in perth right now, lucky i checked in CS today. ok here's the deals that i get.

I was offered $630 for a 1st hand 50mm f/1.4G, $2220 for a 24-70mm f/2.8 and $3600 for D700. looks like a good deal... and all those with international warranty. but i think for nikon SG only lenses are applicable. and here's the deal. for all those mentioned above i will get a GST TAX Refund!!! which means i get further reduction!!! hahaha.. i think the GST here is 10%..you do the maths...How cool is that!

Anyways Have a good days ppl.. i'm off to FREO...

heyloo... hmmm... i have black hari, i was carrying either my CompuTrekker AW or TopLoader 75 and i had Coke Zero every single day... even right now i'm having my coke zero.. hehee...

hmm.. i think even if its for a business trip, i think you're still a tourist and tourist regardless what's the reason you go there for you are liable for a GST Tax Refund.
