Hi All,

These month the sun heat is terrible as I am staying in a HDB flat.
Some of my flat is facing west and the heat is baking the wall & windows

I am thinking of install the solar film on the windows and perhaps it might blocked some of the sun rays into my house.

Has any bro and sis using any of that sort product ? please share.

Thank you,

Vin

Tinting film has been used a lot, mostly in induatrial and office buildings. They work well. Pm me if u want to know where to get it from distributors direct.

Yup, I'm using it for my home.

Really make a diff. Make sure get the good grade one

I got Perfect Windows to install

Also, consider doing blinds too, together with the film. Then your home will be cool.

A good installer will explain about the diff quality of films

Dear All,

Thank you for all the inputs.

After posting, I did a search in the web and found quite a few good lobang.

One was in Ubi Road 1.

Will go and recce and if price is good will purchase and try out.

Thanks all,

Quite interesting, any bros care to share what cost to expect....will be handy for my new home 4 yrs later....which is going to west facing :p

While solar film works on glass, heat gain include the walls facing the sun. Curtains don't work as once heat enters the room, you cannot repel it. You need to reflect them before it enter the room or insulate against it. If you can, sun shade is a better option.

4 years later, the price will be different lah.

Perfect Windows, during my time of installation, 5 years ago, was the most reasonable pricing.

But usually the company has a range of diff quality films for you to choose. Each quality will have diff costs.

before talking to any installer, it's better to read up about IR, UVA, UVB, UVC, Infrared heat, etc

Not possible to block the sun from the wall. How to? Install sun shade outside the building?

Window film while it's useful, will not totally block the heat.it will only reduce the heat buildup. But this will already make the diff from no film installed.

And what is most impt is that film will block the harmful UV ray from damaging our skin and house furniture like wood, leather, photos, discoloration of furniture
