i'm not a fan-boy or an apd employee... just an average consumer who supports the brand and maybe appreciates that the distri is just starting out from a possibly difficult handover and now faces the challenge of having to formulate an effective strategy to meet its target, make a profit and engage its customers.
to be fair, under the previous distri, there were also complaints abt poor availability of certain equipment, poor turnaround time for repairs, lack of response for enquiries, poor service attitude.
now, with the distri barely 6mths into the handover, there are complaints that "unlike the previous distri", there are no demo sets for users to molest during outing, very slow to get new models and "gimmicky" promotions.
maybe we should just keep an open mind and see how things unfold? they seem to be in it for the long-term, having held the distributorship for sigma and ricoh for years already.
its certainly not gonna help the situation for this forum to develop a strong anti-apd bias... i mean... what's the point? we like the brand, we like the cameras, so why can't we just cut apd some slack? they haven't exactly screwed up or screwed over anyone big time yet right?
and imagine how this looks to any new user looking to buy a pentax camera - we must be so messed up if we keep using the brand when the local distri is so fugged up right?
