this is really sad new

all those expeactations

Why sad ? As mentioned, it was the current rumour, but may change because of other announcements. Even if Nikon didn't announce anything at PMA, what's there to be sad about ? I'd say the most you'd have to wait is around 3 months for an announcement.

I want 50mm-150mm f2 VR and below S$2K.....in my dream! :bsmilie:

it;s bout time

canon has something to cheer... fuji also

my dream

1. inbuilt graduated ND filter in front of sensor up to 4 stops soft edge
2. inbuilt dust remover for nikon
3. lens hood with fast hood cover in both manual and automatic control.

a bit far fetch but they are my practical concerns....

Latest one.

"For about 30 minutes, the sales rep talked to the assembled audience about Nikon's latest offering which is to be unveiled on Monday, March 5th at PMA:

- Full Frame (no 1.1 crap) - DX mode at 1.5x - High Speed Crop - VERY fast motor drive (can't remember the number he quoted, but when he fired it, it sounded at least as fast as my F5 on CH. - 18.7 MB - MSRP $7999 - No H and X models anymore, just the one D3 - D2xs will continue to sell. - Dimensions and weight were mentioned, but I don't remember the minutae. Suffice to say, the camera looked to be roughly the same size as the D2 series."

Find out tomorrow if it is true.

So many is talking about Nikon FF, wonder how many will buy a over $10k camera here.

For about 10 minutes, I held my breadth.

Yes, the rumours "circulating elsewhere" is about the 1.1 crap. Yes, the support for existing DX users is a must -- I insist.

However, the pricing is beyond me; at least for the moment (damn; my 6 numbers on Friday weren't the winning ones).

Nevertheless, if it's true, it's a very good piece of news. For Nikon to finally come of age.

another evidence of how nikon take care of backward compatibility. if it is some other brands, they probably won't.

Nikon may out a FF D3 on PMA but DX (D40, D80, D200) is still its big income. I just think Nikon may also release Lens like a light version of its AFS70-200, 50-140/2.8 or 70-200/4? And the 80-400 pro grade AFS.

Yes.

Much as I agree both the AFS VR 70-200mm f2.8 & the AFD 80-200mm f2.8 are very good lens, I too am hoping for an AFS 70-200mm f4 version; a lighter alternative for those family travels and hiking trips.

Good news to Nikon users.

Monday in Singapore time? Or Japanese Time / American Time ?

sooner or later nikon w separate pros and amatuer w difference between DX and FF or 1.1 crop. the price gap will be there too.

current system so strong already why need new new new all the time. if there is, good for us, if not the current system is still strong. there is still time for a better upgrade than one then is just increase LCD size and interface!

just like film days...only the pro model SLR like F5, F100 has mirror lock up....even 90x which later becomes a 'pro' model cos so many pros use it also don have mirror lock up...kinda of miss my 90x suddenly....

and your point is ???

Having a 1.0 crop would be heavenly but I can live a happy life with 1.1 crop.
