Any FX lens to recommend for D600?

Those Zeiss lenses are excellent performers, provided you can handle MF. In today's digital world, I think at least 70% of shooters won't be able to manage them, and I belong to that group. Else the Zeiss 21mm will be a top choice for wide angle lens.

People misfocus wih AF lenses too. Zeiss lenses are not difficult since they work with the camera's focus confirmation indicator.

Yeah true also...I m tempted to buy the Samyang 14mm to try, not too expensive but have got rave user reviews

The Samyang is excellent for landscape... I love it.

Not everyone can accept the Samyang 14mm though. The amount of distortion is exceptionally high and it's kind of wavy, not easy to correct.

Shouldn't be a problem for landscapist, but those shooting cityscapes may hate it :bsmilie:

Haha yeah many people said the same thing for the 16-35, but you know what, when I visit it's Flickr thread and the picture thread in Nikoncafe, I was blown away by the lovely pictures taken.

I guess this issue matters mostly to people who do "lab test" on every lenses. Happens with the Sigmalux too, sooo many negative complains on the web about its AF and what nots, and strangely it's my favorite lens. I guess I enjoy shooting more, don't enjoy scientific tests. :)

It just depend on your field of application or what you intend to use it for.

I've chosen the 16-35 instead of 14-24 too. The 16-35 provides a better focal range for walk about (I want that 35mm) and provides VR, very nice indeed for walk about and travel. When mounted on tripod I shoot at f/8, performance wise for web-size, you can't really tell the difference from the 14-24mm. And since I'm not shooting architectural, interiors, nor many things with straight lines, barrel distortion doesn't really bothers me.

Sometimes some issues with certain lenses just gets blown out of hand, but as long as we users know these limitations and how to handle them, it's still an excellent piece of glass :)

I remember there were at least 3 people who made profiles for this. You have to do a google search. I did not bookmark those sites/flickr dicussions after I downloaded the profiles.

just a click away once you downloaded the lens profile or simply create one yourself.

the one i downloaded is made with canon 5d mkii or iii.

regardless, still can be used even though i'm using nikon camera.

dun think the characteristic and nature of the lens is that different even though lens mount is.

Yes the 14mm is a very attractive buy. :bsmilie:

Just bought a D600 from Parisilk! :) 2.7k

But.. haven't purchase any lens yet..LOL

Just gotten a 50mm f/1.8 and 16-35mm f/4 :)

Just wondering, any other accessories to recommend for this camera? I am thinking of a replacement eyecup (i wear glasses, hence would prefer the large round eyecup that d800 has).

IIRC, I read from the manual that the eye piece for D600 cannot be changed.
