quick update:

found eggs on my nanas!! woohoo!! will be better prepared for this one...

thanks bro!!

a few minutes ago my domestic helper called up....she said in an excited tone, "Sir, your eggs are being eaten up by other fishes! what shall i do??"

I don't produce eggs hor... Told her to cut the leave and place in a container to separate from other fishes till i get back...

Congrats!

unfortunately....
the eggs were being served as party platter by the time i reached home. I managed to save a few eggs but i'm not sure i've saved the situation... :(

you put big nanas, but never separate...... now, separate the parents to another tank, put sponge filters, big nanas....... but use current tank water. they will breed again soon. ensure have another spare tank for the young's when they grow older.

I have a difficult time trying to identify which are the parents. Based on the Dorsal fins I was told but still dunnoe which one..hehehe..

very easy, just see which 2 are guarding the eggs....

So I need to remove them? I saw one of the parents fanning the eggs.. what the purpose for? Is that a male or female?

Fanning not only cooling but also getting rid of fungus etc if my memories dun fail. separate them now is good.

thanks bro...
next time, next time...
will the parents eat the eggs?

The great advantage of having aquatic plants is you don't have to water them.
