Another "Sorry, sorry, sorry" case

No punishment can deter those who can't resist corruption, just look at singapore death sentence for drug trafficking.

...... I hate to see the day when a law enforcer gets hanged for such an offence ....... :(

No issue. It is good that he was discovered. If he was such a big stakes gambler, the authorities should have noticed earlier.

  • Once you have paid the Entry Levy, enter the casino through the “Singaporean / PR” lanes. Scan your NRIC card, driver’s license, SAF identification card or Re-Entry Permit and proceed immediately into the casino.

The resulting database should be submitted to CRA at the end of every month. It should be run in a lookup routine against a register of public employees, civil servants, military personnel and police.

Database query :
• Regular visits (more than 3 times per month) by public employees, civil servants, military personnel and police.
• The rank of those making regular visits.

This will highlight the potential problem cases.

Once potential problem cases are identified, the casino be required to report back regularly to CRA on the amounts gambled by them.

They can be placed on a watch list.

Similar practices should also be enforced on Geylang establishments.

Recent cases indicates that people in high places are prone to such energetic pursuits. :)

actually they do have such systems in place to catch errant civil servants.

just that for high profile cases like this one, they need to consider the fall out first before the press release.

a lot of Singaporeans think that the government does nothing about it, but it's actually been around for a long time.

You can blow $1 million easily with high class call girls. :bsmilie:

Correct, mr Sion Berlusconi :bsmilie:

There are people losing their houses because of their extreme propensity for wild flowers. :)

so you are implying that this CPIB case will be kelong not guilty in court .

Don't put words in my mouth hor. I saying whoever decided to charge this guy (and I think since criminal corruption case, AGC/CPIB must have been involved) did not seem to have done their homework. So may be they will say "sorry, sorry, next time we will improve".
