Status as at 3.35

A worksite incident at the construction site of Fusionpolis (next to Insead Building) along Ayer Rajah Avenue was reported at around 1.45pm today. Several SCDF personnel, 3 fire engines, 1 Red Rhino, 6 ambulances, 2 rescue dogs and were immediately deployed to the scene. The latest casualty report received is as follows - 1 dead, 17 treated on-site, 10 sent to hospital and 6 are still unaccounted for. DART is spearheading the rescue effort to locate the missing persons.

Status as at 4.35pm

One person has been reported to have been extricated from the rubble as at 4.26pm. Another 28 have been sent to hospital and 3-4 persons are believed to be still trapped in the rubble.

The slip road from 1 North Buona Vista Road into Ayer Rajah Avenue and the entrance from Ayer Rajah Avenue to Dover Road have been closed to traffic. All are advised to avoid the areas affected.

this is so shocking.... two accidents in a month. let there not be anymore at least i hope. this is not how we rock the world.. i am sooo worried if such things are to happen again.
 

i passed by there(actually I was working at NUH today), saw lot of cars, polices, SDFs, dunno wat happened untill I heard from the news.

So scary. :(
 

29 April 2004 - 7.35pm

The second and last trapped person has been found dead and extricated from the rubble. The latest casualty count is 29 hospitalised and 2 dead.

Not withstanding the final figures given, our DART members are still continuing with a thorough search operation in the rain to ensure that no surprise casualties are uncovered at the site of collapse.

Status as at 8.30am

The search and rescue operation was called off at 3.45 am this morning .
The latest updated casualty figures are as follows: a 31-year old Bangladeshi construction worker and a 51-year old Singaporean, Lee Chee Yong, a supervisor with Kingston Construction.
Of the 29 sent to hospital, 21 have been discharged.

I know that few days be4 the BIG blackout, my place (Bedok) kenda a minor blackout.
Only the common place ... the house one still had..
