I was more taken with the level of animation with Appleseed than the storyline itself. I was actually asking for recommendations of any anime done in a similar style of 3DCG. There was so much depth and a lifelike feel to the animation, really gripped me. I'm open to all genres really.

Final Fantasy :bsmilie:

I just watched the first 2 episodes of Macross Zero, its a keeper. Couldn't find anywhere that sold it as a set so had to buy individual episodes.

Can anyone recommend a good store for such titles?

Gundum is set in the future in which Earth has become overpolluted and humans had to move to space colonies. A new form of combat evolved in which Mobile suits or large mecha (Term for mechanised humaniods) are used in combat. Gundum is the name of one of the mecha prototypes used by the Earth Federation (One of the two factions in the story).

For places to get anime, can try this place located at the ground floor of Funan. I dont remember the name of the shop, its laser something and located near the Anderson Ice Cream Booth

P.S. Apologies about the last time.

The Funan store doesn't quite have the selection I like. I buy DVDs only and their selection is quite limited.

Any other recommendations? Maybe a specialised Anime store?

One more shop is at Sim Lim, level three if Im not wrong.

Want jaw dropping CG...

i still think nothing beats Gundam MS:Igloo.. u gotta see the CG fight scene... infact, the whole show is a CG. seen FF7:AC, doesn't really appeal to me... maybe i am a bigger gundam fan than a FF fan.

I'm a CG fan so both FF7 and Gundam MS will go on my shopping list. Thanks for helping me spend my hard earned cash guys! :)

You forgot to mention why large mechas are viable as a weapon system in the Gundam universe..... its becoz of Minovski Particles (m-particles).... these sub-automic particles, a by product of the nuclear fusion reactors used in Gundam, when scattered in space render conventional radar and radio unusable.... hence you cannot use your radar guided missles anymore. You are down to using line of sight weapons, infra red, and laser guidance / communications.

Thus, large mechas allow for close combat, are very agile, and can carry large and varied loads of ordnance for complete mayhem.

Notice when Gundams communicate thro laser signals? And when pilots are in spacesuits, they need physical contact of their helmets to communicate thro sound vibrations thro the helmets coz radio is useless.....;)

never watched Gundam MS:Igloo before.... got to check it out.
find it hard to believe that there is a CG better than FF7:AC out there, considering all the details in FF7:AC....

btw, this Gundam MS:Igloo is a serial or a movie?

I have yet to see a store that has the FF7:AC dvd, even the bigger ones. Anyone spot any recently?

OVA, think about 4Dvd to release... watched 2 dvds already... (u gotta get the DVD to feel the quality, same like FF7:AC, anything lesser is a compromise...

i dun think any sane DVD retail outlets would keep a FF7:AC region code 2 dvd without english subs & cost over 1.5x the normal R1 as standard item...

i think if i am not wrong, some game shops have stock of this... at a premium... can check out gamescore at Funan...

Oops, sorry, didn't read the post on the end Nov release date of the r3 version of ff7.
