Can the DR6 work for the D100 too?

For those interested. Saw 2 pcs of the Nikon DR6 at TCW. Asking for over $400. I suppose if you bargain can get it cheaper.

Yes I think it should work for te D100 as well.
The DR6 works with all rectangular viewfinder and DR5 for circular ones.

I just saw the DR6 at the camera workshop, Peninsula Shopping Centre (Inside Peninsula Hotal)...go into the lane beside Spinelli Cafe
He was asking for 450S$.

Cheers,
Gorby

In Tokyo it's about $420. Not much difference.

Kidney is worth a lot of money in underground market. Can buy more than 10 angle finder :bsmilie:

It would be nice to have it as image can be easily align, compose and taken from difficult and difference angle, especially knee level, low level.

then it's time for me to go on a diet then. that'll make sure i save enough for it. not to mention that i'm way over due to do that. :)

Hahaha not worthwhile doing it for a angle finder leh.
Most of the time you can do without it. More for convenience but if you have spare than go for it. :) Also do check out the Canon ones if anybody have it, they fit nicely as well and also not as expensive.

Thanks to Dennis for allowing me to test drive the viewfinder, got the concept and find the usefulness of this unique product.

For those who are interest, there is one more last piece of DR-6 left at TCW.
And it is very useful when you need to take subject at very low angle or left/right angle.
The only drawback is the price tag.

Ok guys, I'll be going to Japan to check out if they have this in stock. Apparently it cost 2100Yen (about S$324). Anyone can advise how much is it now in Singapore or if it's even available?

$450.

Ok, will be getting it when I go to Japan! Anybody needs me to help get can PM me.

I just got a DR-5, and I can confirm that it fits onto my D70 if combined with the Nikon eyepiece adapter (Mfr. #2370).

But, I can't figure out how to get it to be upright. If I screw the eyepiece adapter tightly onto the DR-5, it's not aligned horizontally. Hence, fitted onto my D70, the DR-5 is tilted sideway to the left.

Does anyone know how to get it upright? Can the thread (where the adapter is screwed onto) on the DR-5 be twisted/spinned? I tried twisting it with my fingers, but I think it's fixed.

I have a feeling that the 'locking buttons' are part of the solution. I don't know what those buttons are supposed to lock. The manual, being a Nikon one, is very cryptic.

Also, can someone please confirm that the Canon angle finder C fits exactly on a D70?

Check the first page. :)
Thanks, King Tiger. I'm aware of the early post on this thread mentioning about how the Canon Angle Finder being able to fit a D70/D100. Just wanted to double-check.

Anyway, I managed to get the DR-5 to stand upright. I applied a slight force during the twisting, and waalaa, the DR-5 could still spin just enough around the eyepiece adapter thread, to get the DR-5 upright. . Was a bit scared doing it though, 'cause the item is brand new.

Back from Japan with my DR-6! ;p

How much in Yen and where did you buy it in Japan, Yodobashi, Bic ?

Sorry guys, didn't check CS for some time due to travelling schedules. Anyway, I got it for less than Yen21,000! Yodobashi can get for this price, but you must bring your passport along, or get a Japanese friend who has one of those store discount/points cards.
