Android users unite!

any apps for the stock market?
i miss the bloomberg app on the iphone..

There are some but you'll need to pay for them.

I just got approved for the Android App Inventor!

Not me, but are you running a stock ROM or which CyanogenMod are you running? Wish I had CM mod on my phone...

Currently using Cyan's latest nightly 08/15... But I keep flashing different ROMS everyweek and so far I find HTCClay's Superfly quite stable though lacking some features...

USB tethering and Wifi AP are default in Samsung Galaxy S! No additional apps require. ;)

I don't like the fact that they disable connection to secured sites after a while if you use the free version though. Can't sync my files with Dropbox or check my email while tethered. Of course I use my phone to check my email but Dropbox...different story.

Ahh, another enlightened G1 user.

I always see some G1 users in the wild still with the default ROM and my heart breaks a little everytime. :(

I'm not surprised, many of the people who use smartphones don't even know what they are capable of...they only know you can check email, go internet, and play games.

Low-end Android phones are capable of a lot of things, and can even be much better with developers' custom ROMs. The best out there I think is still CyanMod, and people using my phone have even started a poll in CM forums to request for CM to be ported to it.

Android OS 2.2 aka Froyo is now available for download OTA for HTC Desire owners. Just go to Menu>Settings>About Phone> System software updates> Check now.

CM 6.0 stable has been released.

grr im stuck with my samsung which has great developers hampered by a not-so-good company unwilling to provide drivers for their very capable hardware.

I thought Samsung released the kernal code for the Galaxy S?

I'm using a Samsung Spica, not Galaxy S. There is talk that Samsung just wanted to re-use hardware and just disable functions in low-end phones by not releasing drivers so they are...well, low-end.

Yeah I installed it yesterday. In day to day usage it feels about the same. The weather widget is not working properly though, now it doesn't show my location whereas it did previously.
