i not stay amk but i work in amk, can i join n learn?

I hope you can join us as I have many programs plan for the AMK folks.

I would loved to join but it just happens that on the 28th, I will be overseas. If there are other sessions, do let me know. My place is 5 mins from that McDonalds.

The main focus of the AMK group is enrich and educate our members in photography skill and technique, and to promote community bonding.

Why are you upping the thread? It is starting to feel like Buy and Sell Section.

On my agenda list are discussions for some of the suggested workshops in:
  1. Introduction to Adobe Photoshop and photo retouching - I have the classroom to learn PS together, just need supporters and technical advice on where to get projectors and laptop.
  2. Introduction to studio lighting techniques - I have the venue, just need female and male models.
  3. Introduction to outdoor portraiture - need suggestions on venue and models.
  4. Introduction to black-and-white photography - simple workshop to conduct, need a quiet and scenic venue.
  5. Introduction to Zone System for digital photography - again, simple workshop to conduct, need a quiet and scenic venue.
  6. Introduction to nature and scenic photography - road trip to botanic gardens, the zoo or Kent Ridge Park.
  7. Introduction to photojournalism (conducted in Singapore context) - theory and practical session.

Sorry Photobum, suppose you are organizing a gathering why is there so many topic in your meeting agenda. Why not just talk about 1 topic per week during your organize gathering. It will definitley benefit us.

ya i find too many thing to discusse also..Is the first gathering, should know each other better right? No point jump into it straight away. Later fewer and fewer people will start to turn up, then u will waste ur effort...

I think the meeting is for discussing the possibilities of starting the listed topics like the costing, etc etc... Rather then the actual conducting of the courses on the meeting day itself.

Is this suppose to be casual gathering and sharing session on photography experience. Or the gathering is to preview courses that you could attend and have to pay. :dunno:

Nope... What I am looking at is a possibility to open workshops for the AMK group. Not all courses are charged (even if you have to pay, it is mainly to photocopy materials which cost $5.00 to $7.00 at most). Furthermore, some of the workshops involve bringing in guest instructors. We must at least 'branja' him or her a meal, right?

Of course we will get to know each other first, but I am going straight to the purpose of this gathering, and that is to organize programs for the near future. Our last gathering failed because we could not come into agreement to which workshops we want to have. Also, we have logistical problems trying to look for locations and equipment.

I am just trying to spread all the cards on the table. We will decide on that day which is the card you guys wanted most.

Are you joining? If you do, I need your help to come up an agenda (which I am very poor in).

Anyway, I think the whole purpose of organizing a gathering is to learn about photography. Setting up designated workshops is the most systematic way to learn, I think.

To all:

Please do not misunderstand my intention. I am not posting this thread to promote, or to sell my workshops. All I did was to try to organize a gathering. At the same time, I must let you guys know in advance what I have in mind and what programs are installed for the future.

If you are seriously uninterested, please let me know. I will close this thread and let others have the chance to take over the AMK group (Maybe the Serangoon Passion group will be interested. They are doing a great job at their end).

By the way, I have deleted the thread on workshops. I will let you guys decide.

The AMK Group is closed due to poor response.

There will NOT be a meet on April 28.
