Wow! Really COOL!!!

But I would prefer to have the "VR" sign & the "Nikon ED" sign covered as well.

This is not only to camo against birds but against those prying eyes too. ;)

Somehow the forest camo pattern matches SAF no 4 perfectly well. :bsmilie:

haha :bsmilie:

"against prying eyes"? With this camo (which is really nicely done) it will be attracting too much attention.

and i am amazed by the accuracy of ur cutting, it dosnt look diy at all!

care to share ur secret?
trial & error, haha.

for the hood i paste the tapes diagonally so to avoid any abvious horizontal\vertical connection lines. the tape is not wide enough to cover the entire hood.

for the body it's rather easier, 1 strap for each part, just paste the tape on cutting mat, meature the dimensions from the body and dig out the logo parts lor~~~ :bsmilie:

nah not going for war, juz for protecting my gear. I'm the type of person who through things here there, esp when rushing for events. ;)

woah.... crazed.... imagine you bring that to changi airport... hahaha... they will be like, excuse me, what are you doing ?

i got both, so actually compared them.

Gaffer tape is thinner, more cloth-like, stronger (can take more tension). The adhesive layer does not came off easily (or at all) hence when you remove the tape, nothing will be left on your equipments. (that's for sure, from what i see here)

The 'NTUC Cloth Tape' is thicker, but the cloth layer is thin, so you can imagin how thick is the sticky layer. And it has a higher possibility of leaving some residue on the boby, although it's so far so good for my SB800. One good thing about this tape is it's easier to cut into desired shapes compare to gaffer tape. That's because the cloth later is thin i guess.

GriGri, since you started this thread, don't mind I borrow your thread to post
my gaffered Sigma 70-200..

Bogen gaffer tape gotten from rebbot's MO here, after one whole day of CUT & PASTE, wasting almost the equal amount of tape as those on the lens, it's done!

Dare not go out with this lens from now onwards. Kinda exposed... :bsmilie:

Yo GriGri

You should also wear the below attire to match the lense.

Real good!!

probably should wear the sniper suit with it ..

Cool...... but can someone enlighten me on the point of doing all these? Think the re-sale value will dropped too IMO.

Camo-ing long lens are for bird or nature shooting. No, the resale will be good because lens is gaffered. exterior will be scratchless after removing the gaffers

I would pay an extra $100 for a lens painted with that tone :)
esp a 600mm ones

nice work

I used to do this with black gaffer tape on all my bodies and lenses.
That was 20 years ago and now I now regret not taking the tape off before it got hard!
That remindsme..gotta check the old 800 mm f/5.6 Canon FD and see if I can take the tape off the hood!!
