Alternative to MSN Messenger

pidgin? man, I preferred 'gaim'. anyway, gaim/pidgin is a great piece of software with a very small memory footprint..try it!

Just upgrade to the latest MSN client. It is the most compatible. 8.1 has several builds. Any disconnection and that would be your network.
